Mollie333
A week ago we took her to the vets at Heanor (Amby) and they said 'shes fine she might have bruised the leg', But then we took her to the vets today and found out she had a bad virus, she couldnt stand or walk but was eating and drinking. There was no cure accept antibiotics, which she had already been taking, it wasn't working.. We decided the right thing to do is to put her to sleep.. Rest in peace my little angel im sorry. Mollie333
Im not bothering with Silkies again, they look nice but in my opinion and the vets, NOT a healthy breed.

MummyHen
Sorry to hear this - but that's what happened to my hen Emily about 3 weeks ago - was chickining about normally except couldn't stand or walk - she was PTS as well. The vet said it could be Mareks - thankfully my others are all fine. Rachel

Guest
Sorry to hear it. Maybe you could when the WIR is officially built the proper one look at a different breed ? I know they can't replace them but it sometimes helps.
Mollie333
I've got (hopefully) 4 light sussex chicks hatching on the 4th of july. No chicken will replace Pat, she was a gift from my parents along with her sister, but i'm thinking of getting some Orps, and my three ex batts, when the WIR is done. Thanks everyone x x x
