What is going on?

Recommended Posts

I'd have thought if there was a risk of explosion, then unlawful and illegal evacuation is better than showered in shrapnel with potentially fatal injuries Fred........hindsight is a wonderful and exact science, emergency evacuation as long as it's calm & controlled is not exact at all.......

Glad it all settled without any problems :D

I agree too, but, no one had a clue on what was going on, not even the police. They were telling people to get in their cars and leave, to where? People where gathering at the cordons, others where told to go to the local park, at night, when the whole park is dark (no lights in the park)

My dad was talking to a police officer, who said that

1) We cant tell you whats going on as it might panic people (being evacuated is not panicking people then :S)

2) We don't have all the information...

I just checked on my local newspaper, it was a bomb scare.

Don't think you were evacuated wrongly or unlawfully then.

They did the right thing to get people out if they though there was a risk, rather than waiting to find the information + then act upon it.

I'd rather be in an unlit park rather than at risk of a bomb exploding ;)

Gosh..I would have found it a bit scary I have to say. A few years ago I went to pick DD up from school (right next to the police station ) to find the road closed and all cordoned off, and a diversion in place. Of course I thought the worst and that some lunatic was loose in the school. Actually there was a bomb threat at the police station - but still worrying. I can't tell you how relieved I was to have my DD safely in my car that day!!!
