Lesley
The only advice I can offer at the moment is 'if they tell you it will take a year and cost 100k' double it unless it's Dan - and then it will take at least 7 years
AnnieP
Go for it Andrew. Yes, we have a Biodisc, which we can use for all our water (you can even supposedly drink it ). we haven't got it completely up and running yet (ie the water isn't currently being re-used): Ran out of money, but its here waiting for us to afford the pump.... Go for it! You will learn so much and feel so challenged. OH is threatening to do a self build on our tumbledown barns.... so we can coem to you for help in a couple of years! Can I suggest you investigate getting yourself sn sppointment with a really good architect who will lay it all out on the table as to what you might want. I can put you in touch with ours (based in Cirencester) and also a fab friend who is really into green projects. PM me if you want details.... One Man Banned
OK so a bit of an update The letter has gone to the planning department for their views and popped into Stroud today to go to the agents to discuss buying the plot. We've not got it. So until some other plot comes along, we're not going to be building in Nailsworth Feel very sad at the moment - just got to get my head around the situation and hope and that the sale falls through and we can jump in and get it that time Annie, you up for selling one of your barns? One Man Banned
YAY! Not feeling too despondent any more!! The planners wrote back to us this morning detailing that they will not allow any type of residential dwelling on the plot due to it's location. I'm purely taking it as a good sign to stop me feeling blue about it all and as Lesley pointed out, it just wasn't meant to be Still got to find a new plot somewhere else tho.......
