Doody
Hi all, My Chickens seem to love a early night. At the moment, mine are going to bed at 8pm on the dot. I normally then let them out again at 7:30am. What time are yours going to bed at the moment?? Think my girls love bedtime lol...
igobarefoot
Mine tend to put themselves back in the WIR by 9.15ish and go up the wooden hill by 9.30, so quite late compared to yours! A couple of my girls are always the first up to bed though, with the other two die-hards stringing it out for as long as poss I leave the hen house door open in the summer but I do know they are up and about by 5am - long days for them at the moment, so they snooze quite a lot during the day! winterwren
My ex battery girls are let out at 6:00 and all rush out in a mad dash! Bed times are a problem and they never want to go in so I spend most evening rounding them up It gone 9:00 pm now and I still can get the silly things to go to bed lol
grageomat
They are off to bed about 8:30 at the moment and they get themselves up about 4:30.

mabelandflosmum
My 2 old dears are in bed by 8 as well! They love an early night!
little brown hen
Mine go to bed about 9.30, and I creep out and shut the door before Spice can nip back out and see if I have any more mealworms for her. I put a peice of black out curtain and tarpaulin over the Cube to keep the light out and I let them out at 6.45 when Im up. At the weekend if Im a bit late they start shouting, and I belt down there and let them out before the neighbours start complaining!
Fur 'n' Feathers
Our older girls go at 8, the newbies about 1/2 hour later (unless they're partying in the aubiose!!!
Lavenders_Blue
Mine are heading to bed about 9:15 at the moment and getting up around 4:50. What a long day! No wonder I catch them snoozing all the time
meezers
Mine have been going to beed really early this year- I posted this question a few months ago and I think mine were the earliest The main group are in bed before 7pm, a few weeks ago it was 7.30, but they've got earlier in the last week or so. Muppet likes the chicks to be tucked up around 6.30pm ( yes, she's STILL mothering them , even though they are 9 weeks old - one day soon they are going to turn around and say ' no way mum, 6.30 is for babies, we wanna stay up late - at least 'til 7pm ' ) They all get up early though, I get up for work at 4.30am and the chooks put in an appearance shortly afterwards, so maybe it's a case of 'early to bed, early to rise ?' Roobaloo
Mine are in a WIR with the Eglu door open...and they go by the light...if it's light, they're up!! Currently they're up around 5am (give or take!) and put themselves to bed about 8:30pm on a dull, overcast day or anywhere as late as 9:45pm if it's been bright and sunny! Isabel
I've got night-owls ... 10.15/10.30pm - even if it's wet and overcast they won't go much before 10pm.
ISCA
Up at 7 am (the door does not open until then) and they are in bed by 9 pm (door closes at 9.30 pm).
coco
My girls go as late as possible but they are usually in by 10.00, they get let out about 6.30 during the week and Saturdays but about 8am on a Sunday in respect for the neighbours. My two new girls Fleur and Flora are usually settled by 9pm.
Plum
Amazing how different they are. Mine go to bed when a blackbird sits in a tree near them and sings.

Pipichick
Our 3 settle down for a little nap under our patio table around 7.30 Then spring back into life and do a last bit of 'plant' destruction around 8pm and finally all head into the cube by 9.

grracee
As it's getting darker quicker at nights now, my girls go in anytime between 9 - 9:30pm. When it was still quite light they didn't go in till gone 10pm & then i let them out at 7:30am. They dont seem to make a noise until then so im not complaining
Bexibex
My four girls also take themselves off to bed by 9.30. I thought it was really cute the first time they did it. They are ex-bats and on the first night it took an age to get them to go in the Eglu as they were so frightened. Second night, 9.30 on the dot they went to bed by themselves and have continued ever since. They tend to get up at about 7am which is when we let them out. docsquid
Mine have been going to bed earlier this week - it was about 9pm but now about 8.30 to 8.45 that they take themselves up the stairs to the Cube. We put them in the WIR about 7.45 to 8pm unless it is wet, in which case they have usually taken themselves in out of the rain before that, and if they haven't we put them in a bit early so they can dry off before they go to bed. They get themselves up. The earliest I've heard any noise from them is about 5.30am, and they are well up and about by 7.00 when we get up. If it is cold I shut them in the Cube and open the door about 7.15 to 7.30.
Chooksrus
I've been surprised by mine - out at about 6.30 but all back in about 7.30 - 8.00pm. I thought they'd go back when it start getting dark!
