Does Ukadex really work?

Recommended Posts

Madonna, my beautiful white Polish bantam has taken to snacking off her two frizzle Polish bantam sisters, Shirley Bassey and Sandy Shaw. They are looking a bit de-nuded in parts....

I've tried Johnson's anti-peck spray but am not convinced it works. I saw her having a nibble this evening. So I am contemplating the dreaded Ukadex but I know it stinks. So do I - or don't 1??? Bumpa bits not an option because they are so tiny..

Try it by all means, but please dont take the 'smelly' warnings lightly, it seriously STINKS :vom: DONT wear anything you might want to wear again and DEFINATELY wear gloves!!!

And im glad you know about it turning the chooks brown, i didnt when i used it and got the shock of my life when my beautiful white silkie turned yukky brown, i was devastated!

It is effective, but awful. What hadn't occurred to me  was that by spraying their bald botties, the nesting box and hence the eggs would also smell awful :vom: however I can say that surprisingly, it doesn't taint the eggs and the smell wears off. Wear disposable gloves, I used my gardening ones and every time I used them after that I could smell it, not to mention that the smell transferred to everything I touched with them.
