bluekarin
Are they worth getting? I've been having a look and quite like the look of this one linkydink but it is quite pricey if it doesn't do the job. Cheers me dears!
fluffyfeet
Can't speak from personal experience but I was camping with some friends a couple of weeks ago and they had got the Outwell double self inflating bed and were really enthusiastic about it. John (the fella) suffers with a bad back and after years of using ordinary airbeds and being uncomfortable was now able to sleep comfortably with no unpleasant after effects! As you say, they aren't cheap, but decent quality normal airbeds are around £40 and then there's the pump as well, so I don't think they are too bad really. Happy camping!! Willow
They are a lot better than regular sleep mats but in no way an airbed. My OH and boys like them but they sleep on their backs. I sleep on my side or my front and I need an airbed
Patricia W
I like a camping mat laid under an air bed. I only camp a few days a year - but that works for me. Tricia
bronze
thats not cheap considering its around the same pricemark as a thermarest of a fat airic
Daphne
We use an airbed but plug a pump into the car cigarette lighter so no effort required. Pump was cheap at Trago Mills!
Space Chick
Sainsburys were doing battery powered air bed pumps on the cheap for £6 a few weeks back.
chelsea
We got our SIM's from Argos. We were going to buy those expensive ones called Fat Airics but after reading poor reviews we decided against. I find the ones from argos adequate, I think they were £16 approx each and I use one of those cheap foamy mats underneath aswell. I find self inflating mats MUCH better than a blow up mattress, easier to move around on. My major expense was a decent sleeping bag which was a Coleman one for £50. I like to be warm and toasty camping.
whoopsie
I get most of my camping stuff from Decathlon (often cheaper) and have one similar - it gives quite a good night's sleep I find.
bronze
one of the sleeping mats underneath an inflatable bed is always good as they tend to make you very cold otherwise
