New Boots for Winter

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Am I missing something? All Summer my feet have been happily in sandals/pumps for work but the last day or two they've been cold :( . So tonight I thought I'll dig out my boots from the wardrobe only to discover they're even more scabby that I remember :? (has the old boot fairy been secretly wearing them all summer :? )

Anyway, I have decided to buy new. However, having looked on various websites the cheapest pair I can find that I like are £50! :o:shock: Last year I got lovely black ankle boots from Next for £35.

Now, £50 (or more  ) for outdoor boots is no problem at all, however, £50 for boots just for wearing to work really makes me :(:( . So what's happened in the world that I've missed :eh:

Alternatively, if anyone has any suggestions for other shops let me know. :D

Well £50 sounds like a bargain to me! I can only wear Duo boots as the ones you can buy in the High Street are not wide enough for my, er, larger legs - they are fabulous boots but not cheap. I think it's worth it however as I wear mine most days throughout the winter, I love them to bits.

Sorry I realise that's no help to you in your search for cut-price boots .. but maybe £50 isn't as bad as you think.

i got these last year (in black) and are so comfy and warm (And with a velcro top section above a zip they fitted my chunky calfs too) they were worth every penny. I think they were £50. I understand about the price though. I got some cheapy similar looking ones and they just didn't last (Soles split). I guess sometimes you get what you pay for. We have a factory shop that often gets in cheaper footwear so i regularly look out for their leaflets, places like Peacocks or New Look, when in season, will have some fab designs too.

Check out TK Maxx as you can get really good bargains there. Now is a good time to look too.

A good pair of boots will last you a long time though - My favourites are over 10 years old and still look quite new. I would advise investing in some Boot Trees (well that's what I know them as) because they keep the shape all the time (and make it easier to polish if/when you remember).
