Egluntyne
Apparently they expect to get them out within the next few hours, according to Sky news.
Tiggy
thats really good news, I heard that in the beginning they expected them to be in there until Christmas
patsylabrador
I'm very pleased for them and it is excellent news, but apparently quite a few of them have warring women waiting at the pit head and a few questions to answer.

Charlottechicken
Really? Wow, should be soon then. I've admired the way these men have organised themselves into a little community down there, rationing the food from the start and taking exercise, playing games etc. I am in awe of their triumph over adversity
Cranfield Kate
whenever me or my friends are moaning about how bad our lives are I always say it could be worse, you could be a battery hen or a chilean miner. that usually snaps us out of it. i'll have to find someone else to refer to now. How about a Hungarian living in the path of the red flood?
Lesley
The drilling team broke through a few hours ago and will be assessing the state of the rock by camera, they may have to line the tunnel. The miners shouls be out in a couple of days now.

Chucky Mama
I can't help thinking of all of those movie makers out there that must be rubbing their hands with glee.
Charlottechicken
According to Sky news, the little lift thingy works and they will start evacuating the miners at 4am Wednesday UK time.
The Dogmother
Just looking at that lifty thing gets me all claustrophobic.. it's better than being half a mile down though!
Shirl
You wouldn't get me down a mine in the first place. I heard there were arguments as to who is going to come out last!Could just be the media trying to make a story though.
Charlottechicken
I heard that one of the men is quite claustrophobic now and will need to be sedated to come up. There will be a rescue worker/medic going down first before anyone goes up, then another when the lift returns with a miner to ground level again and so on, until there are about five rescue workers/medics down there. I think it takes an hour to do a complete trip. They are assessing the men and will bring the five fittest up first, followed by the five weakest, then the rest. I imagine the last person out may be one of the rescuers It sounds so brilliantly organised, I have my fingers crossed for a smooth rescue for all of them
The Dogmother
A miner who is claustrophobic????
Happy chickens!
I think I would develop it too down there all that time and not being able to get out. I think the person who goes down that tube to check them all over first is very very brave indeed.
bluekarin
I really hope there is a good outcome after all this. I can't imagine what its been like for them down there, thinking they were going to be in there until Christmas. I'm sure its going to be agony waiting to be the next one to go in the cage to get out of there. I just hope they are going to have some sort of counselling as I am sure there are going to one or two nightmares about this. I did hear/read that apparently there a number of angry women waiting at the top for their return! Anyone know what that's about? And, I agree with you Shirl! I can't bear caves so you couldn't pay me enough to go down a mine *shudders*
Lesley
I did hear/read that apparently there a number of angry women waiting at the top for their return! Anyone know what that's about? Apparently a few of the men have more than just their wife waiting in the camp at the top
Charlottechicken
A miner who is claustrophobic???? He wasn't, but is now. I'm sure the Sky report said he'd been having panic attacks, and will have to be seen by a medic and sedated to get him up. All the men are being given medication to assist with the evacuation and the report also said they will have six months of psychological help when they get out. This must be the worst time for them, as rescue is imminent.
