P&P
Collected 4 new ex-batts yesterday to go with the 2 we already had - and have spent most of today just watching them settling in! It 's been lovely seeing them take their first tentative steps around their new home, and when we opened up the run 2 of them have been brave enough so far to venture out and explore a bit of the garden. Ellie has been rooting around behind the summerhouse for ages (I think she's building a nest!) and Harriet was brave enough to square up to ther pheasant earlier - I shooed her away quickly! They are lovely colours (or they will be when they grow some feathers!) - 2 are creamy Amberlinks, and 2 are Columbian Black Tails - so it makes a change from the usual Warrens we have had in the past. Really excited - they're so cute! And we had eggs for breakfast today - a lovely treat as the older 2 have long since stopped laying. green
I've never seen ex-batts that weren't Warrens before, they're cute! I hope it won't be long until they start feathering up and getting some colour on those combs.

P&P
Yes - we weren't sure whether to let them out of the run or not today, as it was their first full day with us, but they all ventured out eventually and had a bit of a look round - though Frankie and Gwen only popped out for a short while, and stayed fairly close to the run. They soon got the hang of scratching in the dirt, and all seemed happy enough. Funny how the scruffiest most pathetic looking ones always seem to be the bravest and most adventurous!
