Healthy Eating Chat Part 2

Recommended Posts

Well done Clash, I'm so pleased for you, and you're an inspiration in Healthy Eating Chat. :D:clap:

Right, March 1st. A few others have had positive posts too, but I need to get properly started, I've been hibernating, procratinating, stagnating etc.

My target is still the original two stone, or one and a half if it feels better. Mainly though, it's about keeping healthy eating and exercise habits.

Planning healthy food ahead and being prepared is probably what I need to tackle first, along with daily exercise.

I do enjoy everyone's posts, how are you doing this week? Anyone else lapsed and needs a kickstart today?

I haven't had any problems with it.

Well, not in the way of access anyway......but I do have a problem with WW - I want to change from Monthly Pass to Online and emailed to ask if I can just make a straight swap - they say that I have to pay the sign up fee for Online  Has anyone else changed over? - I might as well just cancel

Down 4lb this week  trying to lose 7lb by next Friday!!!!!

Next week I've got 2 consecutive hospitality days (500 or more Propoints each day):lol:

Friday in an "Owners & Trainers" suite at Cheltenham Gold Cup

&

Saturday in a box for Aston Villa v Wolves.

I'm hoping not to put on more than half a stone over the 2 days, but..................

I'm going to Cheltenham next Friday too  I'll be there with daughters number two and three. We spend most of the day perched by the winners enclosure usually. I hear it's going to rain though  We were so cold and wet last year, we were hoping it'd at least be dry

Honestly, she wasn't robbing a bank:

If you subscribed to e-source, but not the on-line service would this be cheaper and still give you the tools and support you want?

I've lost 5lbs in the last 4 weeks. I bought some shorts before Christmas. I ordered medium. They are the tiniest medium ever. Now I can get them on and fasten them up. :D

They're still too tight to actually wear for more than a minute but I'm working on it.:lol::lol:

I've lost over a stone since last July

Well done weight losers. Well done Griffin - it's always nice to go under the marker - and you were so despondent a couple of weeks ago.

After hovering around that silly 15st 10lb marker it then dropped to 15st 8. Would it drop down that one lb? No it blinking well didn't. It hovered around and up and down but never on. I did hit that at the weekend at long last and yesterday I was 15st 4lb! I just don't know how it manages it!!!! I have now bought a new swimming cozzie. I won't be buying those silly fixed cross straps again - the trouble I have to get into them. It's fine and fits perfectly with a bit of room to spare once I can wiggle through the initial gap, but honestly! I think I've toned up just getting it on!

Have been looking at Simply Be. Rather fancy some gingham tops, but I'd like to drop just one more size before I get new clothes.

Can I join in? :D

I have been following Slimming World since mid January, though I don't go to class, as it's not really me - I do a daily spreadsheet and then weigh myself every Tuesday, so far I have lost just over a stone, but still want to loose another 2.......slow and steady!!

erm.....I ended up telling WW where to go....they just would not answer my questions and kept repeating themselves  My membership runs out at the end of the month. I'm going to write a letter to send with the incompetent emails and see what happens next. I've found plenty of free stuff online and follow the Harcombe plan a lot of the time anyway.

Have lost another 2lbs in two weeks.

Of course you can! :D I could say the more the merrier, but that's probably why we are all trying to lose weight now - too merry!

Well done Lesley.

I hate my scales - they play tricks with my eyesight. I don't think being menopausal helps either - erratic water retention and weight goes up - followed a week later by 3 - 4lb loss and then up again! Arghhhhhhhhh!

Would you believe it's gone back down again!!!! Grrrr - it's driving me potty! I said I would like to be down to 15st by the end of March (4lb to go) and then I'll buy some new clothes, so at the moment I'm a rag bag! And a right old moody rat bag too! I suppose I need to thank a piggy OH last night when he scoffed my tortilla.

Hate WW this morning  There are two pairs of scales at weigh in, myself and my friend both agree we hate the green ones and always weigh more on those. My scales at home say I've lost 2.5 lbs again, the horrid green ones say I've put on 1.5  When I expressed surprise this woman who weighed me, who I've never met before in my life told me to throw away my scales because they're not accurate  She said we should never weigh ourselves at home and only the scales at WW give a true reading!!!!!!!! I nearly told her where to shove her scales

A size 18 skirt that I bought two months ago and cried when I couldn't squeeze into it is now loose

Yayyyyyyy! It's loose. Good Griffin! Another thing to remember is you probably have to weigh in fully clothed - but not at home. Amazing the difference they make. At the docs I said "shall I take my shoes off?" "oh no, don't worry just hop on". Bleh - have you seen the size of my feet? Clown sized they are and the soles alone weigh a ton (good job I wasn't in my walking boots).

Can I post my food to your OH to scoff for me

Well done Griffin  .

It's not so much whether they are accurate as whether they show movement in the right direction so there's no point comparing weight on different scales. When you have extricated her scales you could point out to your weighing woman that you retain water during the day so will weigh more there than at home.

Down 5lb (Five) this week, that's 9lb in a fortnight.

I've deliberately "upped my exercise, reduced the booze, weighing/measuring etc",

ready for a big blitz on Propoints this weekend (Cheltenham Friday, Wolves Saturday).

Got a "telling off" from my WW Leader because I'm 10lbs below my target. She said that she will consider reducing my target weight because I should be within 5lbs.

I'm still within my BMI range.

She also didn't see the funny side when I told her that I planned to get back to "target weight" over a 24 hour period. Made me laugh though :lol:

Edit

I also got another "7" sticker, which also p***ed her off !!!

Did mega walk today - 2hrs 15mins. Probably about 5 miles a little hard going in parts, but not muddy. I do wish styles were built with thoughts to how the heck can you climb over when the top bit reaches your waist? Good job I was on my own. Although some guys on bikes said hello to me and I got a few wolf whistles further across the fields. OK it was a parrot, but hey, what a nice parrot (OH and I have heard him before and we thought it was some nutter out to get us until that parroty voice said "ello" several times  ).

Yep you can borrow my OH oinker, Plum. Then when he gets bigger than me I can torment him with chocolate and goodies and see how he likes it!

'Ello' 'Ello' here's an exercise programme to help with the weight loss -

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.

Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.(I'm at this level.)

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.

Sorry have I lowered the tone of this thread
