CAMPYLOBACTER: Anyone else had it?

Ok my hands are covered in purple spray after a bit of a fight with a chicken who has a poorly foot.. lol

Wouldn't be too much of a problem but I work in the hospital and I'm there tonight and at this rate I'll be going with bright purple hands!

Does anyone know how I can get the stuff off?!

Soap and warm water works for me!

Had the same thing yesterday but with a pecked crop.

Add some sugar or granular salt to the soap & water for extra scrubbiness.

And buy some gloves for next time .... it is nightmare stuff to remove

Depending on what you do at hosp, alco wipes or just the hand gel might do it, and obtain a box of gloves for next time!

I've done this too....lots and lots of washing and moisturising, and then a long soak in the bath at night......took a few days

OH has already replied and I agree with comments above re lots of washing, something grainy, gloves...

 

I have had the same problem in the past with last minute spraying before going to work and forgetting gloves (why don't patients like purple hands?) and its even better with mis-sprays going in the face

I usually wear disposable gloves for messy jobs but if I do get the darned stuff on my skin I immediatly get the old green-backed sponge and scrub like crazy! Brings it off (not if it's under your nails though) but LOTS of handcream afterwards as can be a bit sore!

Should see my arms and face after lambing!

 

We have to spray corresponding numbers on the ewe + her lamb with 3 different colours for single, twin or triplet. The spray gets everywhere

Oh and theres the iodine + terramycin sprays too
