chooklady
I think I posted before about getting an allotment before Christmas well I've been to see it now. I think it's going to take quite a few hours to get the weeds under control! My daugther and I have managed to dig a rectangle that's about 10 x 6 feet yesterday, the soil is great, it's just surface stuff really but time consuming. I've just had 10 new raspberry canes delivered so maybe they will go in the plot we dug yesterday. I will take some photos tomorrow to show you. chickencam
You have done well, the soil looks great, happy growing We are coming into our 11th season with ours, we are still learning and you get different succeses and failures each year. We particularly love those expensive seasonal treats that you can gorge on when you grow your own, like soft fruit, rhubarb and asparagus. stehaggan
oooh congrats... we got our allotment last year and love it we found we saved sooooo much money when we were growing. its a bit of a bomb site atm with the harsh weather we have had but the girls like getting the bits of kale that are still growing. And when they escape from the netted area (we have our girls in a WIR on our allotment) its sooooo funny to see them running around all over the plot eating whatever they can - including my neighbours strawberry plants at the weekend lol Good luck with it...
