lillybettybabs
I'm going to a seminar next Saturday and Sunday in Birmingham, I am trying to work out if it will be cheaper to go by train or car. Does anyone know of a website that has the charged for The Palasades carpark? Thanks
Bramble
Can't help on the parking charges, I'm afraid, but as a born and bred Brummie (though I don't live there now), I'd use public transport if at all possible, there's a good train service between Banbury and Brum, me thinks? Good luck!

The Dogmother
Depends on where it is Karen, if it's at the NEC then you're better off taking the train as car park spaces and charges there are a total rip-off. Did you hear that they are thinking of charging for evening/night parking in Banbury? I can't see that going down too well at Spiceball! It's at The Studio just around the corner from the Pallasades, I'm excited as it's Turid Rugaas.
The Dogmother
That sounds good - you'll have to tell me how you get on and what you've learned.
Charlottechicken
OP, you might want to think about Bullring or Edgbaston Street car parks, I think the Pallisades is half demolished now. They are rebuilding New Street station and dismantling a lot of associated buildings. Last few months I've been into town the entrances to the old Pallisades car park have been access to construction workers only. Have you thought about Moor street station and the Chiltern line? Not sure if that is convenient to you at your end but it's not far from New street as you know and might give more options for Sunday services? Charlottechicken
Moor Street station to Cannon Street is about 400 yards almost in a straight line If you look on google maps and head for the back of M&S (white brick building) once out of the station, go straight down Carrs Lane, keeping M&S on your left , slightly left on a diagonal to get into Union Street, walk up to the junction with Corporation Street, cross straight over into Cherry Street for just 30 yards then turn left and there's Cannon Street. Wear blinkers, you will be passing many shops

Lewis
Bear with me for the rubbish directions If you head for the St Martins Markets/Debenhams, just as you go past New St station (on your left hand side) you go past the Old Rep Theatre, round the corner and under a bridge. Under the bridge is all day parking (not sure what time it opens but early enough for when we're at the theatre early on a Sunday) and its quite cheap Theres a few places to park near there too if its full. Another thing could be to drive to a station before (like Aston) and park there and get the train for a couple £ to New St
