craig99
Hi, I don't have chickens yet but will hopefully be purchasing soon and have noticed lots of different vitamins and tonics available to supplement the chickens diet. Are these vitamins and tonics essential if keeping chickens? or are there any that you would recommend? or any that aren't really worth worrying about? Thanks Craig
JillM
If you buy good layers pellets thay should have most of the vitamins you'd need already in there. But Poultry Spice and suchlike is useful when they're a bit under the weather or moulting, garlic powder is a general boost I believe and cider vinegar is supposed to help get rid of internal parasites. Geoid
I have some battles poultry drink, but I rarely use it. I mainly use it if they are moulting or if they're a bit under the weather.
Egluntyne
I have a bottle of Lifeguard from which I occasionally remember to give them a dollop. I would recommend that you do have some Apple Cider Vinegar ( not the dainty supermarket sort, but the unrefined) to add to their drinking water, as it has many benefits. I mainly dose them when they are moulting and through the winter.
