Magnetic cat flap collar magnets

Recommended Posts

Is it just me or does anyone else frequently laugh at the things they find hanging from their cats collar magnets? Needless to say that we can't use the stainless steel bowls anymore

We've had staples, nails, empty food cans, a knife, a pastry fork, teaspoons, nail clippers, a can of deodorant and the other day Kiki came in through the cat flap with a medallion :? Ok it was a 2 pence piece but she's only 7 months so it seemed huge.

That's brilliant - there's money to be made in s"Ooops, word censored!" metal you know!

We used to have a magnetic flap for our cats but one of them managed to pull the battery compartment open and hook out the battery - he then made it an obsession never managing to figure out why he couldn't get back indoors

I'd love to post pictures but I'm no good at things like that, hence my not having an avatar :( I'll have to get Seagazer to give me lessons when I see her next week.

My naughty ED hasn't got a catflap but wants magnets for her cats purely for comedy value  I think a strong talking to is in order, yesterday she put a photo on facebook of my 8 week old grandson with licorice eyebrows & moustache and tagged it Ming the merciless. I did tell her off once I'd stopped laughing.

That's why I got a magnetic one as we had other cats coming in through the old one, I have checked out the microchip cat flaps but apparently there is a time delay between your cat coming in and the flap locking, which would be no good if they are being chased by the neighbourhood bully. Although fingers crossed since Kiki has been going out he doesn't seem to be bullying my wussy boys :D

The farm cats around here can blast their way through an ordinary locked flap. That's why I got the petporte. I agree there is a time lag but so far so good my little cat doesn't put herself in the position of being chased through.

Before I got it I would find her standing on the cooker in the middle of the night yowling her head off at some intruder while the dog slept (maybe cowered, I don't know) in his bed. It was a devil of a job chasing them out.

He was wonderful, God rest his soul. You read of cats bringing in toys and trainers and stuff but Watney ( don't ask) always brought home stuff from the neighbours' pantry. He was renowned for it and I must admit about 50% of the stuff was returned to its rightful owners. I once watched him bring in an 18 inch salami sausage. It took him five minutes to work out how to thread it endwise through the flap but he got there :lol: He didn't give up. He never brought a mouse or anything living in though

Yikes - I'd better brush up on how to do it  Sorry it'll be delayed by a week. :?

We used to have a magnet cat flap but Dave kept coming back with big nails attached to him all the time and I was worried he would get really injured (and as Reiki knows I have virtually a weekly appointment for my pets at the vets at the moment)

Worse thing my cat came back with was a live bird, she let it go, it went up the stairs so we opened a window. It flew full speed trying to get out, missed and killed itself -_- These birds need to learn where open windows actually are!!!

We also have had no cats attempting to come in through our cat flap, but our dog certainly does!!
