Mollie333
Four chicks hatched yesterday, and one today. We think three are pure Pekins and the two others Wyandotte x Pekins? These are the two that we think are Wyandotte crosses. Not sure what colours these are, but i think one might be from my Mottled hen! And heres a little yellow fluffy Pekin. Really odd because our cockerel is Black/silver/gold!

craftyhunnypie
Be warned that I once saw a pure white chicken turn into a black chicken as it grew up - amazing. Chickens never cease to amaze & fascinate me! Emma.x
snowberry
Awww! I'm hoping for Lavender (frizzled?) pekins & Silver Laced Wyandottes... Well, Lippizaner horses get born black & then turn white...

Well, Lippizaner horses get born black & then turn white... Awww, i love frizzles, and Lavenders, the 'mother' of the chicks is a Lavender Pekin, I have a Silver Laced Wyandotte, Mother of the Wyandotte crosses. Glad someone knows the horses. I've known a foal to be born skewbald and turn grey and white!

atsw
The colour changes in some chicks over the first few weeks and months is amazing to watch. I tried to capture this with the Pekin chicks we raised two years ago. You can watch a short slideshow of their progress by clicking here. They are all grown up now, and two of the girls are now sat on their own eggs as I type . Andrew

One of the ones i thought were wyandotte crosses is actually alot smaller than the definite wyandotte cross! I have a Gold Partridge frizzle Pekin, maybe this could be her chick?! Sorry for bad quality photo, i was trying to get the colours, and he/she was a few hours old. All the chicks seem to have huuuge wings now! Does this mean they are boys?
