Egluntyne
Made my first Christmas Card for 2011 today ... I had some time to kill waiting in for a delivery. I'm quite pleased with it. Any other card makers on the forum?
The Dogmother
Lovely Rosie used to make cards but she wasn't very good at it. My friend Lottie makes fabulous ones though.
ali-s
I make cards. I usually make about 50 Christmas cards every year and start making them in July. Your card is lovely. I can't tie bows so cheat by buying ready made ones.

bluekarin
That is really lovely! I make my own Christmas cards every year. About 50 of the things. I have done various designs, the simplest of which is to use previous years cards, cut up and reuse the picture (recycling - I also do that for my gift tags ). I bought a template in the Lakeland sale to make a fold our star card. Quite fiddly, but lovely. I have done a simple cutout shape and then filled using the iris paper folding technique. I've done a simple star shape and just marked out the points then joined the dots with shiny threads and beads - very pretty but time consuming and costs a lot to post due to the beads Crochet snowflakes which I attached to a simple white card so it can be reused and popped a square of pattered paper behind it to make it stand out. This year, I want to do a lino print of a Christmas tree. I have an idea in my head, just got to get it down on paper. Oh, and I usually leave mine until mid November, and am panicking right up to the final 2nd class posting date

bluekarin
I'm really quite cross with myself. It would appear that I hadn't taken any photos of the cards I've made over the years My mum usually keeps them, so I shall ask her if she has them somewhere to hand and then I can take some photos. She usually had the best ones as well

Lesley
Lovely card Egluntyne I made mine with cutout paper snowflakes last Christmas and glued them onto green or red card and added glittery star stickers and glitter strips. I used a very lightweight white paper for the snowflakes.

Egluntyne
I amused myself this afternoon, as it was pouring with rain, by making half a dozen of these: I used the embossing technique, versa mark ink, stamps and my Sizzix Big Shot to make the bobbly paper. Egluntyne
I made a couple of cards yesterday afternoon. I had the house to myself ..... bliss..... no interruptions! This one is a get well card for a favourite aunt. This one is a congratulations card for a niece.

Shirl
I'm with you I wouldn't want to give them away either.I'm afraid they are all far to artistic for me, I wish I could put something like that together but I have no imagination/artistic flair. ubereglu
Recently I haven't made that many cards, but the ones I have made tend to be really special. Usually chalk or oil pastel pictures of animals, like my avatar. I've just done a green turtle one for my sister as her birthday is on Thursday. Sam
They're brilliant Egluntyne Me and my nan used to make Christmas cards, we used to cut up old cards to make new cards, and cut up some to make the gift tags to go on presents. We went round one of her old friends houses once to take presents round for her birthday. She was absolutely in love with her hand-made card!! All visitors got to see it and I think it's still on her wall to this day
