Popcorn
Hi Louise - love the site, and it works too! Is there a history for this site...I've never seen it mentioned on here before?
Lesley
There was Gina but we might as well stay on this one now. There wasn't much history anyway - just a link so that people could watch.
Louise
I was too lazy to go and find the original thread I am not too bad thanks Shona but oh boy the River Tweed is the highest I have ever seen it and its still raining I may have trouble getting home tonight if it doesn't slow down. The road I live on has been flooded in a few places between Peebles and Innerleithen but not as far down as me - yet I am going shopping tonight so it will be dark when I head for home too If anyone sees reports of a small red car floating down the River tweed and out to sea tomorrow morning it could be me
Lesley
I was too lazy as well Louise Hope you don't encounter flooding on your way home - I'll watch the news
Popcorn
you'd better take your oars with you, and put the chicks ontop of the shed
Louise
My mum phoned this morning to ask if the chickens were now ducks If the Tweed Valley evers floods bad enough for it to get into my garden most of you will be underwater The road home however
Guest
The road home however When I finished work last night, I had to wade my way back to the car as the car park was under about a foot of water, and Newtongrange itself was pretty bad all the way along Main Street - no rivers overflowing - just far to much rain for the drains to deal with. I got home feeling pretty smug as we live at the top of a hill, so was convinced we would be safe. Got up this morning to let the girls out, only to discover that the garden is flooded, and the run is one giant puddle! Luckily the girls aren't too bothered, just abit muddy and bedraggled! Popcorn
Oh no Shona! I've seen all the rain on the news, but didn't think it was that bad. Hope your garden and the chooks recover soon. Never rains does it
Louise
It is bad Gina, the rivers in Scotland are all on flood alert or they were this morning it has almost stopped raining but there will be a week of run off from the mountains still so we aren't out of the woods and poor Hawick is underwater apparently I saw quite a few flooded buildings this morning and one yard full of JCB's up to their buckets in water
ali-s
Raining since Monday here. I'm not venturing to Elgin today as it always floods Hubby roofed the whole of the Chicken run at the weekend but it leaks Poor girls have spent most of the day inside the Eglu and I can't blame them. Pellet porridge at supper time should warm them up
Mel (& Paul)
Oh you poor lot up there. I thought I was having it bad as it is raining and I had to stand on a main road taking photos (dont ask). But at least its only a shower. The traffic news has been mentioning all the problems you are having with flooding and bad weather. I do hope it turns better soon and that those of you at work get home safely - sit in front of a roaring fire (if you have one, if not, turn the rads up high....) with a large glass of whatever, draw the curtains and snuggle down. Take care of you all that have to be out and about in this weather.
Louise
Thanks Mel, I have to go to Costco and Ikea tonight and I am eating out so it will be late before the whole feet up glass of something nice happens I won't be lighting the fire either as too much hassle for only an hour or so but there is always tomorrow
Mel (& Paul)
Its never too much hassle in my book - just stick some firelighters on it to get it going! I have to go out on an evening appointment tonight (which is why i am at home "working") so I'll get back about 8.30 - I'll raise a glass to you. Take care and dont overfill the trolley at Ikea............
Popcorn
yes, or buy too much to fit in the back of your car and have to return some items Weather has been threating all day today, and I've had the girls cover on and off about 4 times. I've left it on now, as it looks like it will catch us up tomorrow. Not looking forward to month of wet washing hanging about the house either

Louise
I only have a 2 seat car Lesley and I had just spent £150 in costco (not all for me) and so i had limited space left. Costco also had a scratching tower for cats for £29 which I really wanted but alas no space but I can feel myself itching to go back for it
