Chickendoodle
Found the most amazing new spatula at Lakeland http://www.lakeland.co.uk/14710/Chefn-Stand-Mixer-Spatula It is absolutely brilliant for cake making and gets all the mix out of the beater - never knew I needed one until I got it
Egluntyne
Cor! At a penny short of ten quid I'd be expecting it to do the washing up too!
Chickendoodle
But it gives me an inordinate amount of pleasure using it. Give me a curved spatula over a bunch of flowers any day
abwsco
Oooh, I remember my dear departed Mum buying a spatula similar to that years and years ago. The fact that you could get all the cake mix out annoyed me no end as I could no longer s"Ooops, word censored!"e the bowl to eat the last spoonful of mix

Alis girls
Is it gold plated?
WitchHazel
I have one of those, it works superbly with the mixer. It's not just about gettin gthe stuff off the beaters, it's also about being able to s"Ooops, word censored!"e the stuff down the side of the bowl (even planetary action mixers need a bit of help). Straight handled spatulas just can't do it. In fact, I use mine while the beaters are running, but I imagine that's a bit of a ElfnSafety crime. The Dogmother
I have one which looks the same from our local market... cost me £2.
Ain't Nobody Here
I have a similar one from Pampered Chef (it was the cheapest thing in the catalogue ). It's fab and means I can clean the bowl so well that the boys don't need to .
Lesley
I have a similar one from Pampered Chef (it was the cheapest thing in the catalogue ). It's fab and means I can clean the bowl so well that the boys don't need to . Cheaper than the £9 bread knife? I use my spatula specifically for 'licking' the bowl, never for getting every s"Ooops, word censored!" of mix into the tin
quickcluck
I have one very similar, love, love, love it
The Dogmother
No cake making stint is complete without licking out the bowl... if I make cakes on a Sunday when Phil is around then he and Rosie fight over the left over mix
craftyhunnypie
I've got one for 99p. Granted it's not a Lakeland one, but it's a jazzy baby blue one & works a treat. Licking the bowl ( just a finger dip) is essential! Emma.x
