Willow_Warren
Hello... I have just got back from Thornes Poultry with Florence & Henrietta, they are two Skylines/Columbines. They are currently residing in a whilst settling in and getting to know my existing chickens (3, 3 year old hyrids). I was so tempted whilst I was to get a white chicken as well (not sure if they were corals or white stars), but I with held... (there is always next year I suppose...). I will get some photos when I can but they are being a littl shy at the moment. Hannah Edited September 30, 2011 by Guest

Willow_Warren
New hens always mean happy owners I love old fashioned names for hens...somehow they seem to suit. I am just the same, my "old" hens are Arabella, Clara and Winnefred - I was going for a Victorian era names. I still want a white chicken who will be called Beatrix Anyhow I've got some photos of them now - firstly the Omlet: then Florence (the paler of the two - she's in a bit of a strange position here, but she's lovely really): Then Henrietta the browner of the two (Mum always said I should have a hen callend Henrietta, well it's taken 3 years but here she is): This is a photo of my other 3, when I first go them, so they've grown up somewhat since: Winnifred is the black one a the front, Arrabella the bluebell on the left and Clara the speckledy one on the right: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some !eggblue!s from my lovely new ladies Hannah

Willow_Warren
Florence laid her first egg yesterday: Florence's First Egg by Willow_Warren, on Flickr She laid it under the rosemary bush (hopefully she'll learn to use the nest box). It is a lovely blue with a slight hint of green. It's very small, but it's a first, and weighs in at just 38g!! I'm a very happy with her
