Jofitch31
Hi. I have two silver nick chicks (and a Rhode Rock). I cant find any pictures of what the Nicks will look like when they're older. Can anyone help?
Chickvic
They must have another name - a silver nick might be what the breeders called them. What do they look like now?
Parsley
The only reference I could find to a Silver Nick was on the Thornes Poultry website. If you contact them, they may be able to give you more information.
UKMARCH
Hi, I'm no expert but if a silver nick is the same as a silver link then they may be an amber star type but more white in colouring, are they white? We have an amber link and she's a great egg layer!
Jofitch31
Hi thanks everyone! They are currently 6 1/2 weeks old and are a very pale yellow, almost cream. They have very pal legs and are fairly big already - about 7 or 8 inches tall? No idea hat they could e like and like you say Google doesn't bring many hits! jennym
Found a reference that said silver nick = amber star. http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapevine/rule-roost/blue-egg-layers_54313.html Pictures of silver links as pullets & laying hens here: http://www.nantclyd.eclipse.co.uk/html/poultry.html
squiffs
I have an amber! They will either be pure white/cream or they will have brown/gold speckled markings (though this is less common, they're usually white, so the man at the chicken farm told me). So naturally, I chose one with markings on her back!
Lewis
They do tend to be creamy coloured, some with darker markings across their back and wings. Lay lots of eggs too We have a dark cream Amber Lee (one of the ones that FRs around the yard) with lots of dark red markings all over her, everyone wants her
Jofitch31
Brilliant thanks everyone! It's funny because one of them does have some fairly prominent brown markings on her wing tips - just like yours Squiffs! Really helpful to know this. If anyone has has pics of their Nicks/Links then keep them coming, would love to see!
Sam
I chose mine because of how white she was, she has no brown markings just a creamy neck I was a bit OCD with picking them and I also wanted a black one with minimum ginger
