AndreaT
I finally plucked (sorry!) up the courage to let my new girls free range at the weekend and they loved it. No one tried to fly away and the cats weren't really that interested so all my worrying was for nothing!
jackian
They look wonderful , happy and free,...I used to have a garden but I would not change watching the antics of my girls FR for anything .
percy049
Your garden looks very neat! Prepare to watch it be destroyed - it wont be long before you start shutting them in the run again!

AndreaT
Thank you! I have to admit, I have already bought some netting so they will have their own little garden to destroy and not all mine
emmastar
I have some temp netting for when i reased the grass and they are not hapy when it goes up they love the new shoots of grass so always the same patch that needs the seed and they pick at the grass inbetween the paving so do my weeding for me while im restricting them
Smudge
There's no better pleasure than watching the girls free-ranging around the garden, it just seems so right, but if you want any garden left you do have to restrict their time we've found. We got our first two last summer and after seeing the damage they did last year, as we headed into spring this year we got some Omlet netting and decided to keep them in that area whilst everything was shooting and the grass was recovering. We've then just let them have the complete garden for only a few hours each day through the summer and whilst it's now not perfect it does still at least look like a garden! Mind you, that was only two, we've now recently added another two and my OH's main concern is the damage that 4 will do!
