I don't know how it happened but.......

Recommended Posts

I'm picking up two Chocolate Orpington Bantams tomorrow :oops:

Our new coop came and I made OH put it up, so the big girls have gone in there, there is now a medium size coop going empty, it looked so sad not being used :lol:

OH worked on the garden yesterday and we now have two separate areas, going to keep the little newbie in the side garden for another week, they've been FR with the big girls in the big garden for the last few days for a few hours each day with no problems.

So, I'm putting the 2 bantams in the empty coop attaching a pen later on and they'll go in the side garden. Next week the littlie newbies will move in with the big girls and the batams will have the side area to themselves.

Please tell me I'm not mad..........although I know I am already :D:lol::whistle:

Anyone else got orpington bantams? What are they like breed and personality wise?

All sounds vey exciting - not mad at all :D

I have had my bantam orpies since August, they are now approaching 6 months old and are completely scatty but adorable! Be aware that they are able to fly pretty well due to the fact they weigh next to nothing so make sure you have nice high fences when they get to FR.

My littlest bantie is a silver laced but she has a huge personality and is not scared of anything - she torments the cat and has an obsession with chasing after the garden broom when I'm out using it :lol:

I'm sure you will find them great fun to have around and the chocolates are a gorgeous colour - one of my new LF orpies is a chocolate.

Have a great day tomorrow.

I have a choc orp bantam Daisy that I hatched last April. Up until until about a month ago she was the biggest wuss going but she is statring to develop her own pesonality and is queit cheeky and will shout fior treats. She is lovely though, I also have a gold laced orp bantam Darcey, she keeps herself to herself but is lovely looking. :D

I have a silver birch bantam Orpington and she is beautiful to look at, will feed from me but hates being picked up. But she was already a year old when I got her so maybe that made a difference as my silkies are quite happy to have a cuddle and sit on my lap. I also clipped her wings as first day home she jumped/flew up onto the table in the garden whilst we had visitors eating dinner. I would love a chocolate as well!
