freddie
As I now have a woodburner(since September), and it has a flat top, I'm looking into getting a kettle to sit on it, for the nightly tea drinking, get up half the night routines! Advice on makes/efficiency etc, and all the problems, dear folk!!
quickcluck
Probably any gas kettle would be ok, or one suitable for an aga......
The Dogmother
I was given a le Creuset one about 10 years ago, I now use it on my cooker hob but I hanker after one of these. The price is a bit of an obstacle though
Sammiboo
Le creuset!
Christian
Another vote for Le Creuset I got this one in May and love it! http://www.christianshens.blogspot.com/2011/05/polly-put.html
Purplemaniacs
We have one of these http://www.agacookshop.co.uk/kettles/hard-anodised-kettle.html which we use on the aga. Can't believe the price I am sure we didn't pay that much but we have had it since we moved here so that is over 7 years Chrissie
Olly
I want one, but my woodburner is really small and all the ones I've seen would be too big a diameter, I think. I might look for a coffee-pot instead.
chickencam
We have a Le Crueset one, but the whistle stopped wotking very soon after we bought it from a Le Creuset outlet shop, i notice that they now have different whistles.
Lesley
We have a Cotswold which we use on our woodburner. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cafetiere-Cotswold-Stainless-Steel-Kettle/dp/B0009Q0KUA

The Dogmother
I have the same one Christian but the older version. I am now looking for something more contemporary to the age of my house, so less modern in style. I use mine in the woodburner or the cooker/stove. abwsco
Oh, I so wish I hadn't looked at this thread as a) I now want a stove top kettle and b) want this one that's £
craftyhunnypie
Ooo glad I stumbled on this - we want a new kettle for the Rayburn! Think ours will be a Le Crueset, as I love their cookware. Lasts forever. But I love those that Dogmother wants, those are verrrrrrrry nice! Emma.x
TutuTallulah
Abwsco - Don't get the Alessi kettle! I had one and the little bird doesnt whistle so ended up in the kitchen drawer eventually. The spout gets so hot that when you try to pour it it splatters and spits and really is a health and safety issue. The handle went 'crazy' (all little cracks if you know what I mean!) Alessi did not want to know. No response to emails or letters. I would never buy an Alessi item again, but bitterness aside, this was a really rubbish buy. Save your £90 or buy something worth the investment with it! Tutu x

I did see a Le Creuset one in TK Max but that had great big chunks out of it so have scrubbed that one of my list as well. Think I'm just going to get this cheapy from Argos linky

lillybettybabs
I have a Le Creuset, It's ok but i don't think it's flat enough to boil quickly. I will get an Aga one next time
