craftyhunnypie
Please help! My sister is having her C section early Tuesady morning & my niece will arrive into the world. I'm extremely nervous & tearful about it, as my sister very nearly died last time. I really pray she is ok! I'm going shopping in Aber tomorrow afternoon & want to get my sister something special - have already bought baby girl some nice things. What would be a nice present for her? I will also get my nephew a bit of something so he doesn't feel left out! Emma.x
snowberry
cd's to listen to! I hope everything goes as safely & smoothy as possible
Space Chick
You will know your sister best, but I think getting her a present is a fab idea Hope all goes well.... I think the most terrified I have been in my life was when my sister was in labour and things started to go wrong as you know both my sister and my nephew are fabulous for the safe arrival of your niece
Guest
Been there! How about some nice shower stuff and skin cream etc - I know I really appreciated that - after all - her body has been through a lot and deserves some pampering! xxx
patsylabrador
Truly hope all goes well. I agree with louisewomble, stuff to make her feel beautiful and like a woman. I remember being overwhelmed by baby paraphernalia and it made almost tearful when people had thought to buy something luxurious for me. If you live near her then the gift of time to indulge herself is priceless. Good luck to your sister.
craftyhunnypie
Unfortunately I live over 100 miles away. Was thinking some nice pamper treats yes & maybe a little necklace or some nice earrings. Just wondered if there is anything that she might really appreciate? Loose top yoga style trousers?! Lewis
Get yourself to Pollys + you can't go wrong Its expensive, I spent at least £60 in there on a few Christmas presents, but there's loads of little gifty things + people seemed to like them! PurpleTree
Unfortunately I live over 100 miles away. Was thinking some nice pamper treats yes & maybe a little necklace or some nice earrings.Just wondered if there is anything that she might really appreciate? Loose top yoga style trousers?! Emma.x If she's having a c-section, big pants that come up over the stitches, I had to have some of my mum Think I lived in my loose pyjamas for at least a few days, definitely some loose waisted trousers would be nice my safe arrival of baby & your sister doesn't suffer too much. Did she have a planned c-section with her first? I found it all quite calm and organised, all the staff were lovely, even though I'm completely terrified of needles
ClaireG
Some nice pampering bits and loose waisted trousers sound a lovely idea I hope all goes well for your sister.
craftyhunnypie
Thank you! Pampering stuff & loose trousers, plus bits & bobs from Polly's shop - it will be! I am always in Polly's Lewis! It was an emergency section last time - horrific, blood transfusions the lot! Emma.x
chickencam
Good luck to your sister It is lovely of you to think of her, you tend to lose your identity a bit when you have children ad it is nice to be reminded that you are special too. Lydia
How about trying Babyblooms. I always go there when one of my friends has a baby because it offers original baby gifts (think bouquets made out of socks) and pampering stuff for mums and dads. Wishing your sister the best of luck.
freddie
Really nice cushions for her, rather than the baby, as she'll need to be sitting comfortably for quite a while, well supported.( that's all very badly put, but you get the idea!) cheap to post, too, as they weigh less Hope she and the new one have an easy go of it. ohcarolina
I bought my sister Royal Doulton 'Sisters' in white when she got married and 'God Bless You' when Charlotte (my niece and Goddaughter) was born. Now she has Sophie too there's one for each of them - one day! http://www.thedoultonlady.co.uk/prods/pc4.html
Cate in NZ
My suggestion, for what it's worth, would be a voucher for a pedicure once little one has arrived. When you're pregnant you spend months not being able to reach your toes, and it's just nice to have a little bit of pampering. Of course it's not something she'd be able to take advantage of immediately after a c-section, but a nice treat for her to be able to look forward to. Especially if there was someone else, (a kind Aunty maybe ) who'd be able to look after the little ones for her whilst she took the time out for it. craftyhunnypie
All sorted - I got all you recommended- thanks for your help! The pamper things smell absolutely divine & I also got a lovely necklace & earrings ( which I want too) oh & choccy. Every woman needs choccy! Rang sister earlier - had a good chin wag & I told her I loved her. Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
She's arrived! Don't know fine details yet like what time or her name. All I know is that she is 8lb 11. My sister is very petite frame so this is quite a shock. Mind you my nephew was 8lb 3. She was just being stitched up when I got the message of her hubby. Omletina Kyckling
I like the idea of pampering gifts and perhaps an item of jewellery. Dad bought mum a string of pearls when I was born and she gave them to me when I got married and I've had them since. Hope all goes well x
