National Three Peaks Challenge

Recommended Posts

At least I shall have the 2 other drivers to keep me company!

Am now looking at hostels for the night before and the night after....any recommendations for cheap & cheerful with proper beds for night of 6th near or within an hour or two's drive of Ben Nevis.....and night of 8th near Snowdon, although I think we have found somewhere for that night, any recommendations are obviously welcomed!

Yes, good luck to T and the rest of his party for this weekend. :D

Make sure you let us know how they do, Sha. As I will be thinking of them (and feeling slightly envious if I'm honest as it was one of the best experiences of my life). :P

Whilst sponsoring him on Saturday I told him how I'd done it and he asked if I managed the 24 hours.... now he knows he has 23hrs 45mins to beat

Well, that's all over, and the sponsorship collected, tho' I am still getting notifications from their JustGiving page...and the official estimate is that over £1000 has been raised for their chosen house charity (Crawley House)... I can't say more exactly than that as I don't know what P has collected in real money, and the figures do not seem to add up on the JG page...a phone call will be made for explanation tomorrow!

The official timing for the Worth-Wild-Roses team was 23hrs 59, which was exceptionally good considering they had a member who had broken his hip in February and another who was carrying a mystery virus which was giving him hideously sore feet (and has not recovered in the time following either, poor M :? )....and the traffic/roadworks were doing their level best to slow us down.....we got a few funny looks as we encouraged the last member down the Miner's Path extremely loudly and animatedly...or perhaps that was just me being loud and animated :anxious::whistle:

Anyway, next year DS is signed up for the Channel Swim Team  ...fortunately this is organised by the school, so I get a year off from "Challenge Mummy Logistics Madness"...can't wait for the next bout in 2015 :anxious:

Thank you to everyone who sent good wishes and sponsored the little darling......and especially big thanks to Lewis for giving up a week to support us

Well done to your son, his walking companions and the support team.

I'd recommend the Yorkshire three peaks challenge as a future goal.

It takes about 12 hours, or less if you're quite fit! You walk the whole time, with rest stops at predesignated places, quite short breaks if you want to get round in less than 12 hours!
