CatieB
Who better to ask than the trusted omleteers! It needs to be good; I live in a rural (muddy) location and my house has cream carpets (there when I moved in- why?????) oh and a 7 year old. I want a stand up one as I already have a cylinder one that isnt brill and its too much of a faff to put together, empty etc. So ease of use is a must too and the edges of the stairs need doing as they seem to be the dirtiest bits so with a tool??? Any recommendations greatly received, particularly models as well as brands as I know they can vary by model. Thanks
Geoid
George, made by the same people who make the Henry hoover, but it is also a wet/dry vac and a carpet cleaner too. Very easy to use.
ClaireG
I hired a Rug Doctor awhile ago which was excellent on out cream carpets. I think you can buy them. We have a Bisell quickwash which is ok but nowhere near as good as the Rug Doctor was.
chickencam
Another vote for hiring a Rug Doctor if you can get hold of one, although they are not so good on edges even though they do have an upholstery and stair tool, but they bring up the main areas like new, they clean them and fluff up the pile, very noisy though. We hire one at least once a year from our local Morrisons and quite a few B & Q stores hire them out too.
Willow
Bissell upright. My mum had a old vax that was similar shape to the henry and I could not believe how much easier and more effective the Bissell is
rachel19
Or how about one of the steam cleaner ones - they're very good for carpets and get them very clean apparently and you can use on hard floors, windows etc too.
