Snowy
We had a lot of kerfuffle yesterday. In and out of the Eglu, chicken pyramids in the nest box, lots and lots of general busy-ness and bustling. And lo and behold, what should I find half an hour later? Our very first banty egg! Clever little Mimi! I am guessing it was her as her face furniture is much more pronounced than the other two, although funnily enough she is now the smallest of the three. And I did catch her arranging aubiose on her back! I am actually quite relieved that she is OK as we had a bit of a trauma the other week - I had let the big girls out to free range and removed the run divider so that the pekins could also come out. Later on I noticed that Mimi's neck feathers looked all skew whiff and when I checked her she had had a hole pecked in the back of her neck! Anyway it has all healed up now and she is obviously none the worse for wear (although the big girls are in the bad books)

Groovychook
Congratulations! They are such pretty girls! Glad to hear little Mimi has recovered from her trauma. My three little banties have all started laying in the past few of weeks too... I can't believe they're all grown up!
