crankycookie
This feels like a dumb question, but I've never fed mealworms to my chooks before, and when I opened the package, it looks like mostly some grain-like (looks a bit like bokashi grain?) material and the worms scattered in it throughout. Do I just dump the entire thing out and let the chickens have at the grain/sawdust (not sure what it is) as well as the worms? Or should I pick the worms out? Egluntyne
I'd give them the lot.
Purplemaniacs
Or should I pick the worms out? I think I would have to give them the lot. Chrissie
lillybettybabs
I tend to sift out as much of the bran as i can buy using a fork, I then put the mealworms into the dust bath for extra fun.
The Dogmother
I just hand-feed the lot.
Pikey
I just empty the lot into the run......they don't last long...and trust me there won't be any left
LizzieLloyd
I sit on the floor and hand feed mine live ones when they are out fr-ing. its a great excuse to get really close to them all at once
Chortle Chook
Are these from Wiggly Wigglers? If so then the bran would do your chooks good as well as the meal worms. I admit, however that I've only ever given my chooks live mealworms once. I found it too but how wet is that?
Henslaved
I feed mine by hand, one at a time just to make sure everyone gets their fair share

Henslaved
I have to do it that way or else my Rosie would scoff the lot. She crowds everyone out and eats them at lightning speed .
