What a brilliant idea. I have bantams and it would definitely give them something to grip onto while climbing up the ladder. I think I will try that. I can't take any credit for the idea, I pinched it from someone else who had done it before and posted it on the web.(Google is a wnderful thing at times!) I was very worried about the pekins with their feathered feet!!!!! But it works a treat, they just shuffle down it and jump off the end! I was going to call my chickens Milly, Molly and Mandy (after the children's book) but when they arrived they didn't look like their names and so they are Blackie, Fluffy and Little Ginge.
