House MD 221B
We only rang them up yesterday to enquire if they had any girls at the present time, and they did. However I'm off work at the minute due to CFS, and my motorbike is at work as I was too ill to ride it home when my boss gave me a lift back, plus 4 girls + 1 pet carrier + 1 motorbike are a combination I haven't tried yet, and am in no great hurry to either. So ring them I did, and sure enough they have plenty, so we ask for 1 of each breed, which is fine, and when I ask if they'd be willing to deliver (which they did at NO extra cost bless them) the lady said "Is tomorrow at 10:30 alright?" so after hastily putting the Classic and Run back together and making sure it's clean in the middle of the night like two blind fools lol We have four new girls to accompany our older two Pecan and Pennyapple. I've added them to the signature already and they are the cutest squeakiest girls I've ever seen. What's funny is they're really quiet, chilled, friendly, and relaxed. The old girls however are noisy as anything, I've alrady taken eggs round to the neighbour to apologise, although she didn't mind and has been laughing at my futile attempted to calm them down. There's still time to make a Salad. So I'd like to introduce in no particular order.... Fenton (Fenton Rose) Phoenix (Rhode Rock) Valentine (*Bluebelle) *to stop emoticon and last but not least Willow (Speckledy) This is the whole setup: 1x Red Eglue Cube, 1 x Purple Eglu Classic, 1 x 3m x 3m WIR, 1 x still unused swing . Fenton: Phoenix: Valentine: Willow: And here is ALL 6 girls together (separated of course): They are gorgeous, and so calm and relaxed. But Pennyapple and Pecan will NOT stop shouting and getting themselves worked up, even though they aren't forced together they can free-range and not be near them if they like. But they've been unhappy all day because when they woke up the run had reappeared in their WIR before we attached the Classic this morning (darkness won in the end and we had to wait to finish) I tried to remind them that when Poach lost Scramble and spent a week on her own she didn't make this much noise when they joined her. But they aren't listening to reason. So I shall keep shushing them, and my neighbour can keep laughing at my exasperation and futile efforts. But our new girls are already having a nice afternoon sit, they're eating and drinking, and already looking how to escape from the run to explore (especially Willow who seems to really want to explore) There's been a bit of beak on beak pecking through the bars but nothing to worry about. And the new girls have met Mojo the neighbours (Scaredy) Cat who likes to sit under or on top of the Cube, the old girls ignore him because he's terrified of them, but bless the new girls alarm called, however I get the feeling they're going to catch on quick that Mojo isn't a threat, it was barely a serous call out and they settled down as soon as he ran away. I know this is a long post, but I've been off work for 3 weeks, and I have another week and a half to go. so I'm bored, lonely (apart from our girls of course) and need to share this all with someone. They're so wonderful and I hope they're going to be very happy here. The lady who sold them to us said feel free to call her if there were any questions or problems which was nice. But what a beautiful Tuesday! I hope everyone else's Tuesday is going as well. Gush over. Thanks for listening.
Redwing
I'm sorry to hear that you are off work The girls look lovely and your set up is very tidy!
House MD 221B
Thanks, the swing is pinned up at the minute (not that they used it when it was down) but it's in the way of the mini-run door. Once they're integrated it will come back down and maybe the new girls will feel a little more acrobatic.
LottyJ1
The idea of a swing has made me laugh with images that have poped into my head! Your set up looks fab and they are lucky girls.
House MD 221B
I'm open to furniture ideas, it looks a little bare when the Classic and run aren't in there, with just the swing. So if anyone has any ideas, for climbing frames etc for them. I'm rather unimaginative, and if anyone's got any ideas, pictures, suggestions we'd both be very grateful. Chortle Chook
Let's hope your pretty new girls (Willow has such lovely markings) soon see you back in the pink. (Our swing is still un-used but it looks so pretty in their play area, that OH asked me not to take it down )

House MD 221B
Hey cheeky chook, thanks. they are gorgeous, and good as gold. Had another day so far of Alarm calling and shouting from Pennyapple. So I've shut them in the WIR with the new girls, so I know they are safe, so the alarm call isn't anything serious because nothing can harm them. So far so good, they've quieted down. Willow is such a little explorer, last night they'd just gone to bed as Sally got home from work and I mean literally 30 seconds to 1 minute before she came in as I was watching them. But Willow and Phoenix came straight back out and so we shut the door on the cube to stop Pecan or Penny from coming back out. And let them have a little explore of the WIR, they're so brave and curious they're adorable.

Ain't Nobody Here
Beautiful girls, congratulations . Hope you're back on your feet soon but what a nice way to spend your enforced time off . I've got a random selection of planks, logs and perches (in my signature link) - you could probably do something similar by fixing things to your WIR panels? I used metal brackets screwed into the wood.

House MD 221B
FENTON USED THE SWING!!!!!!!! THe first one to use it in the MANY months since I made it lol I locked Penny and Peaky out the WIR and put their food and water out with them so the new girls could have a little more space than the 2m little run. And Fenton got straight up on the run and then onto the swing!!! I realised I hadn't got my camera so ran in to get it and just as I came back out she'd hopped down lol But I did get a pic of her on top of the Eglu Cube cheeky little monkey She's a little explorer. Definitely going to have to build some furniture for her.
Plum
Clever Fenton , I'm amazed she used it. My OH made one for the girls and one got on but it made such a violent swing when she got off that I condemned it. Didn't want chicken splattered on the side of the run LizzieLloyd its a small hen house I use for introductions or isolation and in between just sits in the run for the girls to leap in and out of and occasionally lay in.
