Mine will only eat cooked broccoli, but I can't think of any reason why they can't eat it raw.

Yes but they much prefer cooked brocolli. Infact mine tend to leave the uncooked stuff now. I put it in a bowl with a bit of water and nuke it in the microwave.

As its been raining most of the day I hung an uncooked broccoli head in the run for them - total disgust! They will however eat it if I cook it for them.

Mine eat anything green as a rule, if they expect it to be cooked then they can go without!

Ours (both adults and chicks) go absolutely mad for it. If anything, they go even more mad for PSB than for calabrese, and will fight over it.

Mine love it but I have found that I need to slice through the Stems as they like to eat the flesh inside the stalk not the outside. Can't speak for the florets themselves as the guinea pigs always get those!!

mine used to be really picky but now devour anything green i put in the run. even if they have to jump/climb/overcome obstacles to get to it. (i.e. they LOVE uncooked broccoli)

I use a skewer to put a hole in the stem and hang it from the roof of the run just above their heads. They love having to jump up for it and I love watching them

Mine will go for it straight away if it's cooked. If it's raw they will strutt off giving me a load of verbal abuse then come back for it later!!

Hi all, 

My partner and I recently 'rescued' five 'free-range depletion' Lohmann Brown hens. We've followed advice regarding what's good for them and what's not etc - but never quite expected their unbelievably CRAZY love of Dandelion leaves!!!
