House MD 221B Posted May 19, 2012 Author Share Posted May 19, 2012 There starting to calm down now and be less noisy, but for the first 5 minutes Penny wouldn't stop alarm calling even when I was holding her which usually calms her down. So many accidents are caused by horses spooking at helicopters and low-flying planes. House MD 221B Posted May 19, 2012 Author Share Posted May 19, 2012 lol I must confess I am not, it looked beautiful, someone else on an aviation forum I belong to said he's seen them also with some AH-64D Apache Longbows joining them, must have been a wonderful sight. Purplemaniacs Posted May 19, 2012 Share Posted May 19, 2012 Something came over here about an hour or so ago quite low, there were 2, 2 more and then 3 more. Not sure what they were as OH was out at the time We used to live very close to the dam at Rutland Water and the jets used it as a training area, DS was a toddler when we moved in and it used to scare him as they can up and over the dam, after a few months he got so used to it that he took no notice what so ever of them. It never bothered me as like Egluntyne said our protectors have to train and thank goodness we have them. I hope your girls settle down soon and have peace and quiet for the rest of the weekend. I must admit there was not a deer, rabbit or a pheasant in sight to gobble our veg . Not sure how our chickens reacted they were locked in at home.I will know if there are no eggs tomorrow. Kazzy73 Posted May 19, 2012 Share Posted May 19, 2012 My girls were not impressed with the queens flypast,its bad enough we are on heathrow flight path takes them a while to get use to plane noise again when they swap runways and directions off take off and landing,but today we had spitfires,HUUUUUGE massive planes,red arrows tv filming helicopter the works!!!!I thought it was great stood in my garden watching them flyby but my girls no not impressed one little bit and I hope the queen heard they were loud enough but calmed down after half hour or so Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SusieT Posted May 20, 2012 Share Posted May 20, 2012 We live in Lincolnshire and have the Red Arrows, AWACS and Typhoons fly over low as they are coming in to land on a daily basis and my girls don't bat an eyelid, and it doesn't put them off laying.
