Guest
My (Ex) husband used to do all the washing and ironing but then I was working and he wasn't. He also "thought" he did all the resto fothe housework but the place was always untidy. Despite me working full time and him doing very little - except going to the pub every night, he still would get grumpy that I didn't cook him dinner during the week. When I chucked him out he said I'd never manage the housework - I got a cleaner who ironed and it cost me less than "can you "lend" me a tenner" every night! Now I'm living in a huge house and my Mum lives in the annexe. I mow the lawns (simple since I bought a ride on) and she does the washign and ironing. I have a cleaner who does the floors and stuff so I still don't need the (ex) hubby.

Looney
OOh some of these posts have really made me laugh - thanks everyone! My OH is becoming increasingly domesticated - his Mum is very impressed ....I've resisted the urge to tell her that if she'd trained him properly to begin with it would have saved me the hassle. ... ...anyhow.... He used to do jobs for me and repeatedly point out what he had done so I could keep thanking him.....that doesn't happen anymore. I won't go into details but I have ways of making him change his ways

Richard
I'm coming very late to this thread, but I wondered if it was the right time to talk about my delightful georgeous wife filling up my diesel car with petrol? Not to mention total directional dyslexia when it comes to reversing with a trailer on the back of the car. Perhaps not .... And I won't say a word about my favourite phrase - 'its absolutely fine love, just you park here and we'll walk to the kerb' Mind you I will admit that I don't use the washing machine, and will wash up by hand rather than use the dishwasher. But I do like doing the ironing.

Helly Welly
I find that the threat of a grater works well OH will do the dishwasher, but i always feel that he's thinking that i should have done it by now. I've taught him how to iron but he still never does it. In our house we only iron shirts so its not too bad. He got Abi( to show him how to work the washing machine, funny how he can figure out a TV no problem. The main problem is we are both lazy and hate housework, it gets done when it need it. The house is clean and fairly tidy and that will do us, we never get any visitors anyway!
One Man Banned
I think I have found a great one in Joe He washes and irons, does nearly all the cooking, walks the dog morning and night (sometimes with me if I can move), mows the lawns, pays the bills, and it helps that he only works for days a week. I never seem to have the energy after work and with travelling and overtime I havent been at home much at all of late. I do pay for a cleaner twice a week and she keeps on top of things so the house is at least tidy as that seems to be one of my jobs.....isn't outsourcing great as well as the chook cleaning and tending, veg growing, DIY, decorating, repairs, technical stuff, heavy stuff, car cleaning (his reason for not cleaning the car is that the dealer does that when it's serviced !) And I also get to shop for all the nice stuff and treats for the month.. A xx

Erm, this sounds familiar - although I think I have reversing dyslexia without a trailer being involved!
