Autumn Feltie Swap?

Recommended Posts

Well they weren't Bridget Jones so had to use two sections. they now look grey and manky not like yours all purple and lacey.

I used a short wool this time and made the tufts thicker and banged it on sink and it's come out a bit thicker but not felted enough really. If I pinch it on both sides it divides in the middle, if you know what I mean. I don't like the colours but can use it under the base to create a thicker one. Actually it could be made of dog hair

I'm in the car-park at Whale Chine and sat here laughing my head off - getting some very strange looks

Lots of finelayers will felt better than thick ones - it doesn't matter how many layers so try more if it is cobwebby. I must admit that I prefer cobwebby and so perhaps I should have said to make more layers. I add another piece of felt to my pictures after I've finished them so that the needle felted parts don't show. Alternating very hot and then very cold water and slapping the felt around in the sink will full (felt) the fibres more if you need to make it thicker or a smaller size.

Emma - if yours ever dry you can use two pieces to make the coaster? Has your OH got over the shock yet?

I haven't started mine yet as it hasn't rained here all week - i thought it would. I'll start mine next week. I've seen plenty on our travels around the IoW to give me Autumn based ideas..........although I really want to make lots of felt using the glorious colours of the sea as I've sat watching it every day - I love the changing colours.

Yes - purple & whatever colour Plums pants are!

My felt has dried well now & it does look pretty, but quite fine. I think I may be able to work with it though. One piece, is calling out for a little red riding hood to go on it. It reminds me of woodlands. The other is a bit like an aquarium. I will be doing some more tomorrow. More hairy goodness drying over the bath... No hun, I am not going bald & anyway, I don't have green & pink hair...(yet)!

I will be having two little (not so little now!) helpers this weekend so I will get them to draw the names and I'll let you all have the name and address of your swappee.

Posting date 12/13 October........?

I have started mine - I don't like it at the moment, it isn't how I can see it in my head! I'll work on it a bit more with needle felting......and may well start again!

Is anyone else joining us? - you have until Saturday evening to let me know.

I think the only address I need is The Girl's Mum - nothing sinister going on - I just haven't tidied my desk since the previous swap :D
