Lewis
You might remember I had some poorly Ex Batt girls from BHWT Northants in December last year - they were the last batch of hens to come out of the old-system of battery cages. I took a few photos today and forgot how bad they were when I got them. Its nice to see the progress but sad to think how bad they were. First there is Tracy Beaker who has a twisted beak. She took a couple weeks to settle in and eat properly but she gets on fine now and has feathered up really well. ...and Justine, the friendliest cheekiest of all my lot and the only one who will escape their Free Range area to come and see what we are doing in the other part of the garden! She was really bald and has feathered up quite well but sill hasn't moulted her wing feathers so they're still bald quills. With some of my other girls... counturchickens
They look fantastic, we're getting some more ex batts in October, it is so great to see their transformations.
Gertie
They look wonderful. It's so rewarding to see them recover. I found my ex betts were the most friendly & handleable chooks. Poor old Tracey, glad she's not twisted any more.
