Clucking_Mad
I was feeding my girls some treats of grapes and cherry tomatoes and Dorothy started making some strange noises. I have previously put a post on asking if chicken can have hiccups but didn't get much response so I thought I would film it so you could hear and hopefully advise on what she is doing and if I should be worried or if there is anything I should do. Please click on the link below to view the video. Thanks in advance Laura
Ain't Nobody Here
It is a bit odd . More like a cough than a hiccup - perhaps she has something stuck in her throat? I'd be inclined to just watch her over a few days - she doesn't look at all unwell so perhaps it'll clear up by itself.
Clucking_Mad
Thank you for replying ain't "Ooops, word censored!"ody here she does this every time she has treats she is very greedy and chases the others to get any food they have as well. I have noticed that when I fed her the treats not only does she do the noise but she also starts to get bubbles come out of her nostrils. LottyJ1
I think I had one that did this once by eating too quickly and it was uncomfortable in the crop or a bit stuck?
sjp
I think it's just a side effect of her eating to fast I've got a CLB and a couple of her daughters that are the same scoff the treats to fast then end up with a bit getting stuck or going the wrong way
Saronne
Snap! I definitely have a hen who makes that noise - she is a scoffer and always the first at the food. She's otherwise okay.

Plum
Looks like a sneeze to me she's shaking her head as she does it, one of mine does this. Her chest sounds completely clear so I'm just waiting and watching. Strange isn't it.
