I recently got a laced polish bantam. She's very young and very beautiful. However after having a very bad experience with introducing a new hen to my girls I have been very cautious. (Hence I now have 2 Eglus). I built a cage for the newcomer inside my walk in run. I let her out once and the girls went for her very badly. So back in her small cage she went. Today, about 3 weeks later, I let the big girls out. Let the youngster in the run, then put everyone back in together with some lovely corn. It worked! She's even roosting with them tonight (after a little persuasion with a broom, as I can't get in the run). I'm so happy, as no doubt she is too.

As Patricia has said, you do have to be careful with them; I put it down to the other birds not being able to 'read' them as the eyes are obscured. You get the same thing with dogs which have hair-covered eyes.

Having said that, I had a Polish x Araucana once and she was fine, but I did trim her top knot back so she could see, and the others could see her too.

Really pleased she is settling in. I love my Polands big time :D Would be so nice to see a photo of your girly, especially as my laced Poland went to the great meal worm store in the sky this year and I miss her. :(

By the way, your Poland might like another Poland friend. I've found my Polands do everything together.

This is what I do to add a picture

1. Load it onto Photobucket

2. Click on the 'IMG thumb nail' and do Ctrl C on my key board

3. Go to my post on this forum and do Ctrl V on my key board

Hey Presto - a Poland :)
