Valkyrie
Yup, Linda made a really pretty and near on perfect dress, but she had to go. Pity because I did like her. Am inclined to agree Chinelo seems to be the better of them. I dunno - not sure I like the other 2 ladies. But it's nothing to do with sewing ability - more on personality I guess. Which is why I'm not judging! Anyway rooting for Chinelo now.
bluekarin
I am rooting for Chinelo too. I think she has a fantastic natural talent. I am amazed how she makes clothes with no pattern!
bluekarin
Did anyone watch last night? What do you think of the winner?
yvonne
Well, I guess Chinelo let herself down on following a tie pattern, so really could not win even though she was the most creative and Heather made something a bit different which had been her downfall in the past although she has always shown herself to be very competent, so I guess the best person won on the night. Tamara always seemed OK rather than outstanding in any particular area. I missed a lot of series one, but the older lady who won that seemed a better all-rounder. Hope they repeat series 1 one day. Bramble
It was a difficult call - I really don't think Linda should have gone last week, Tamara pulled it out of the bag last minute to cling on, but overall, I think Linda was better and had she been in the final, it would have been a closer run thing. Chinelo was lovely and very creative, but I guess lack experience on the technical stuff. Tamara again was lovely and made creative things, but I have to say, I was amazed that she used a glue gun in a sewing competition!! All in all, I was happy that Heather won, although I have to say, had Linda made it to the final, it might have been different. Great series though, very watchable! Olly
I was disappointed Linda didn't make it to the final, because I think she'd have given the others a run for their money ... Chinelo's draping techniques are fabulous but she really showed that she struggles to follow patterns, with the tie. I'd also have been a bit disgruntled if the use of the glue gun had been accepted, the final effect looked good, but that's not sewing! I think out of the three finalists the right person won, she's been consistent all the way through. I agree not as outstanding as the fabulous Ann Martin last year, though! I'll watch this again, as I thought the contestants were more evenly matched this year and the various elements of the competition were quite challenging showing up different strengths and weaknesses. It's rekindled my interest in sewing, I just wish I could produce things as quickly as the contestants do.
sadietoo
I am still sorry that Linda went out last week as I think she would have been a worthy finalist. For me the couture dresses reminded me of those wedding cakes in the Bake Off final a bit of an anti climax. Tamara's creation was so completely unflattering to her lovely model I felt really sorry for her. And Heathers looked to me as if it had come from the dressing up box although she certainly demonstrated that she had the skills. In the end it seemed to me that she didn't so much win as the other two lost. Still. I enjoyed the series and I will avidly watch the next series
Egluntyne
I was disappointed that Linda didn't make the final too. Tamara let herself down by using the glue gun I thought, and her style was always a bit unusual. Chinelo's work was usually stunning, but she couldn't follow a basic pattern. Overall I think Heather was a worthy winner, and I liked her wacky sense of humour. Can't wait for the next series.
Plum
So what have we got to look forward to now?
Purplemaniacs
So what have we got to look forward to now? Not a lot I was a bit disappointed with the result, I was also disappointed that Linda didn't make the final. Heather was not my favourite but it was great to see all the sewing. I must try to get my sewing machine out and have a go again, I used to do a lot of sewing when I was younger. Chrissie
