buffie
Daisie got a letter from santa, very excited. She seems not too interested as I brought her a squeeky toy from the market which is far more exciting. Im going to put all the fur and feathers names in the box next year and santa will think I have been very busy! BBx

ali-s
. Thanks. It worked. Getting back on topic, I haven't started wrapping. Is there a smiley running about like a headless chicken in a blind panic.
Mrs Frugal
I've only wrapped 2 presents for my friend and her daughter. The rest all go into individual pillowcases for everyone in the family unwrapped and you dip in - no peeking, grab a prezzie and there's no wrapping paper to dispose of! I can't bear to see all those bin bags full of beautiful, expensive, screwed up paper on Boxing Day so all we have is a few pillow cases to bung in the washing machine!! Guest
Excellent idea! I've almost finished the wrapping, just the BIL and SIL to do. Then there's the nightmare next week of getting the right groups of children together to wrap a present for one of the others, and in some cases to buy one! When my youngest was born we all gave a present to everyone. With 6 in the family, someone will work out how many presents that is (about 30 I think!). I was horrified at how much money was being spent just within the house so after that I decided that 3 children would give one small present to the 4th. Now that they're older I have them in two groups, the younger two and the older two, so that each child gets two presents. The older two tend to manage their own shopping now. I always go to bed on Christmas Eve absolutely terrified that someone will have got left out and knowing that we won't find out until it's time to give out the presents! Scary! Mrs Frugal
Crumbs! That's complicated! I get that terrified feeling too. In fact a couple of people I usually buy for have said that we shouldn't buy for each other this year to save money and I'm still going hot and cold because I've not got their presents yet - until I remember why ! Mel (& Paul)
There's a family that lives down in Poole and they have 13 children (what she must be on heaven only knows, as she always looks bright and breezy and smart and not at all like someone with 13 children!) Can you IMAGINE the wrapping nightmare
Guest
Gosh! I wonder how they manage?
Mel (& Paul)
I know. I think they both work - the oldest girl was Miss UK (or something similar) and is just over 20, their youngest is really only a baby - they have 12 girls and 1 boy (and boy, do I feel sorry for that boy!) Guest
Both work?! If I go out a lot in the week, the house collapses. No cooked meals, mess everwhere, no food in the cupboard, no clothes to wear! Pressure indeed. Perhaps the older ones do a lot.
Mel (& Paul)
I think they do. They seem a pretty close good family
