Ladylil
Recently saw an excellent idea for hanging cabbages (or swedes etc) from the roof of runs so thought I'd share. Screw a screw part of the way into the core/stump of the vegetable and hang using string or wire attached to the screw. Tried it myself and it works a treat
gavclojak
Haha I got desperate once and used the whisk part of a food mixer screwed in to the bottom of a corn on the cob and then tied up. Resourceful us chicken keepers
Ladylil
I like it! Anyone else have any tips?
nin-chicken
I push a long metal skewer quite far into a corn cob then hang it directly from the little loopy bit on the end, it kind of clips onto the roof of the cube run. With broccoli I pierce a big hole in the stalk and thread the string through. More ideas please!
Ain't Nobody Here
I use the metal skewer idea too . I like the screw idea though - might try that!
jennie186
I pierce a hole through cabbage stalk/broccoli stalk or sweet corn with a skewer and then thread garden green plastic covered bendy wire through and twist of side of run. I have now got a special fruit hanger from the omlet store which works really well.
jasperaliceuk
I use Jenny's method but I thread through that hard plastic washing line - gets used for all sorts of things - including tying down the tarps - have realised that the bungees just do not hold up in high winds - they are too flexible and wind gets under the flaps.
