Horrible dream

Recommended Posts

Woke up having dreamt I had bought my chickens even though we had a different garden and a shed to keep them in. It came to feeding them and getting them into their coops and I was trying to find mealworms to entice them in but could only find Golden Nuggets cereals, (not had them since I was a kid). Then I realise I bought 3 quails and 3 budgies. This worried me as I couldn't remember looking at and turning down a Bluebell, Light Sussex or any black chickens.

I woke up and had to think about it. After 10 minutes I worked out I was dreaming lol

Does anyone else have weird dreams which confuse them on waking?

 I'm trying to imagine budgies in a chicken coop!

Yes, I have very vivid dreams and sometimes have to take a few minutes on waking up, to work out what was real and what wasn't. Sometimes I dream about my mum and dad (who are both dead) and that can take a while to get my head around.

Vivid - insane dreams here ----including ninja Brussel Sprouts being led by Winston Churchill, loads of dreams where I can't go somewhere because I cannot find my shoes....

and the scary one I believed for ages...I dreamt I had seen in the newspaper a horrific story where a group of man were making a wall - think great wall of china size - it went horribly wrong and the men were trapped and died in the wall - so they kept the wall with limbs and heads left poking out of it -I believed this for months and only realised it was a dream when I started telling someone how strange it was that no-one else knew about this disaster !!!

I love my crazy dream world !!!!

I woke up the other morning in floods of tears as I dreamt my sadly deceased cat, Oliver (my profile pic) was alive and I was stroking him. In the dream I could feel his thick winter fur coat, and could still feel it when I woke  In the dream though, he was only there for a few minutes and then suddenly disappeared. Felt out of sorts for the rest of the day :(

I have recurring dreams about tornadoes. Never the same, sometimes a huge one and other times multiples of them. Sometimes I am in a skys"Ooops, word censored!"er watching them go by and other times racing for dear life!

Another one was we were on holiday and we had to get to higher ground because of an imminent tsunami - I'd been out somewhere and was meeting up in town with OH and the children (who were young) and then we jumped in a car when the water ran back down the hill. Then we followed another car - looked like a Volvo estate along a narrow road with countryside at the end - we were being chased by yes, a blinking tornado. It ripped a yellow crane off the top of the skys"Ooops, word censored!"er and landed on the Volvo in front - all this time I was calm, turned round to the children behind me and told them that they must close their eyes and put their hands over their faces until I told them it was OK. Then as OH swerved around the debris I could see "Ooops, word censored!"ody was alive in the car (now if that were really me I'd be checking to make sure but this is a stupid horrible dream). I can only hope we got to countryside - why that's deemed safe I don't know - perhaps higher ground away from tidal waves but hey ho the tornado was a surprise).

And then there was one where we were down a country lane covered with molehills. Except they were ex-bats and I kept trying to pick them up and take them off the road to a safe spot.

Actually I've come to the conclusion that a therapist would either have a field day with me or perhaps I am genuinely a walking disaster zone! :anxious:

My mother always said she never had dreams and, as I dream every night without fail, I wondered what on earth she did for entertainment while she was asleep.

I also recall as a child being told people only dream in black and white, and thinking I must be very odd then as my dreams were always in colour. Sometimes the colour was important, so I know I dreamt in colour. Once I was a green triangle dancing in a field and I still remember some of the other dancing triangles were purple  . Think that whole black and white theory was way wrong!

Nothing wrong however, with three quails and three budgies (seven fat cows, seven thin cows etc ...), but I'd be seriously concerned about those Golden Nuggets

My nightmares usually revolve around my teeth falling out in various circumstances/combinations and me trying to put them back even if they are shattered. I do have a thing about teeth and would rather have major surgery then anything AT ALL to do with teeth :vom: .

Someone once told me that the teeth dream thing was a metaphor for something really deep and meaningful (can't remeber what tho) but the dentist just said I'm paranoid. I go with the dentist on that :wall:

I have recurring dreams about not being able to move, like my legs are made of lead and I am walking through soup. I am usually trying to do something at the last minute like pack for a holiday or get ready for an exam.

The worst dream that I ever had was about the Hindenburg air shop disaster, it happened over the back garden of house that I lived in at the time. I was probably about 10 years old and had recently seen something about it on the television. I woke up in floods of tears and didn't dare go out into the garden.

On the subject of feeding Golden Nuggets to chickens, my daughter sent me a picture of some Quaker Oat pellets, the other day, with the caption 'human chicken pellets?' she opted for Weetabix instead because the pellets were rather expensive and didn't look very appetising, they may have been Mornflake actually not Quaker not sure.

I once had a dream that the Queen was having an affair with Tom Hanks but everyone knew about it and the media wouldn't leave them alone. What the hell does that mean?

Oh dear! That's a brilliant one! :lol::lol::lol:

I also dream in glorious technicolour. I wonder if that's why they seem so vivid and perhaps if they were in black and white perhaps I wouldn't remember them?

I wonder if Klondike Pete was around to retrieve the chicken pellets.

Teeth falling out I think is a good fortune type dream. I know it wasn't bad.

I do get nice dreams though - like being in gardens with pretty flowers and country lanes, then wake up hoping I lived there!

OK another weird one. My home was my grandmother's bungalow. Nice sunny day. Went into the garden - children doing homework indoors (yayyy I'm young again), hubby at work. I see a weird aircraft (I blame Richard Branson) and it does a circuit around the street. I start walking back to the house and it sort of sees me and shoots back and hovers over the garden and I start running only to see it flying back and hovering behind the building (I blame Hawaii 5-O) - it fires a weapon that explodes in the street behind the bung and a big pinky purple cloud of what I assumed was deadly and I was only feet away from the house - had to get in to make sure the windows were closed to protect the kiddies and I held my breath while the cloud dispersed around me. Now I'm not sure whether I was actually holding my breath or whether it was OH that was in the shower woke me up.

Any psychologists out there? I think I'm a hopeless case!!!

I really hate the 'can't find a loo' dreams!!! I wander round in a variety of odd places feeling more and more desperate but either can't find a loo or something weird stops me getting to one each time.......then I wake up, realise its silly o'clock in the morning and I REALLY need the loo  !!!!

Usually, its around 4.00am and I can't get back to sleep  Probably encroaching middle age

Does anyone else find it odd how dreams contain things that are actually happening? I can think of several occasions where I have been dreaming, something has happened like the phone ringing or someone saying my name or one of the children is crying, and I wake up a few minutes later and it actually IS happening.

My dreams seem to predict this though, as I remember one occasion where I was dreaming about my old home as a child. The phone was ringing and I ran into the living room, only to find it was now my mum and dads new house and I couldn't find the phone! I got it, answered it and woke up to my mobile in my hand. It was my mum, who laughed and said "that was quick, it only rang once!"

On holiday years ago I was sharing a bed with my mum in one of those cabin things. I heard a siren and I sat up in bed yelling FIRE FIRE!!!

Mum said don't worry, it was just some idiots blasting their car hooter around the camp site.

I think it happens when you are at that not quite deep sleep moment - either nodding off or coming out of a deeper sleep.

Wish my dreams were like that!!! Its either teeth falling out or whatever is worrying me at the time. Had gastroscopy booked for last Friday morning and wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything for 6 hours prior. Woke up about 5 times on Thursday night in a HUGE panic having dreamed that I'd had a cup of tea, picked at the crusts of the boys toast etc and would have to cancel then get all worked up over again!

I had a bizarre dream, or should say dreams last night. One bit was where we had a new dog, a white staffy type. I don't usually like them but this one was sweet in my dream. Anyway, I was playing with it and then I had my hands around its neck and it was choking, but I couldn't feel my hands or arms so couldn't let it go  I woke up, so I don't know if was ok :(

Wish I woke up laughing from my dreams! My hubby wakes me sometimes by talking in his sleep. He has a good mutter sometimes

I guess it's to atone for the horrid dog hurting dream the other night, last night I dreamt we rescued a small lurcher, the size of a whippet. It had a too tight collar that was cutting into its skin so I carefully took it off and then it was running around like a loon! Looked very happy in my dream :D

Odd one last night. Friend of mine was chairman of the local council where I live. He was in charge of entertainment. I was acutely aware that this person would never be in such a position. I chatted with him about it whilst going through some paperwork in my office. I distinctly remember saying "Well done, mate!" It turned out I was in his home and his wife said "just when is she going to take her stuff out of our place?"

We speak on FB but not seen him in years and never met his wife.
