4 out of 6 is not bad at all.

I might even have 5 out of 6 but they haven't all laid on the same day - Polly has been very interested in the nest box but I don't know if she has actually laid yet.

And such a deep dark yellow yolk too - can't get that in the shops.

I love my two egg days (that's the most I've had so far). I just think it's lovely seeing two eggs waiting in the nest box (or what passes for a nest box in the Eglu Go)

I used to love full house days when they all laid an egg, now I have some old girls, some bantams who are very much part timers and a cockerel it is never likely to happen again.

I am making the most of my eggs.

I got another 4 yesterday and 3 today so we are doing well.

I think I have 5 definitely laying, sadly not Lucie - she has never been that productive.

 

It's funny because Chloe - lavender pekin - has a very small comb and it's quite orange, not red at all, so I didn't think she was ready but she surprised me the other day with her first egg.

And Polly too, again not very red, also produced an egg in the last couple of days, with a pretty white shell.

 

I'm very proud of my girls and gave them an apple to show them how much I love them

I can take one tomorrow if it's not too rainy and then get OH to help me put it on

That's as long as she doesn't grow overnight and then look the same as Zoe

This is Zoe.

 

And this is Chloe.

 

Zoe has a much bigger comb than Chloe and Zoe's is often a lot redder than hers too.

I hope they stay that way as that is how I can tell them apart - even from a distance if they face the right way

Thanks Luvachicken. Shelley definitely isn't that red yet. Neither of them have such developed wattles as your girls but I guess they're all different. No eggs yet (and the tree surgery seems to have put Amy off too!) but I've got my fingers crossed - I don't think it'll be too long.
