mrsatroy
I have a cube, a classic and another plastic classic style coop. For whatever reason all but one of my birds have deiced to move into the cube. To say it is cosy is a bit of an understatement. There is usually at least 4 in the nest box. 4 of the birds are bantams but there are also 3 big, fluffy cochins as well as my hybrids and ex-batts! I have onle lone black silkie in another coop who seems quite happy in her isolation. How many birds have people had crammed into their coops at a a time? Should I just leave them off - it's their choice!
DaisyAndBobby
Did they just decide to change themselves one night? I'd love to see a photo
mrsatroy
Yes, just happened over a few nights. First one of the black silkies decided to abandon her sister and then the same thing happened with the cochins. It makes doing a head count very difficult! Francis my little bantam rooster must think he's died and gone to heaven
mollyripkim
I have two cubes with 17 bantams and although they usually split between the two I had several months in the summer where all but one crammed into the cube.
clucker1
I have had 12 hybrids in a cube at once and it was cosy! As it is at the moment, 4 of my 9 chickens sleep in the nest box, so plenty more space in the cube for another few!
gavclojak
Flora tries to get in the nest box every night, that one thing I won't have! It's the hight of bag manners....pooping where you lay your eggs So I have to take her out and thread her throughout the pop hole before I close for the night. Faith roosts every night with her head in the nest box but her body hanging on to the devider between the cube and the nest box, silly girls

clucker1
Mine are toilet trained! Only 1 poos in there. They are determined Madames and unless you are there 24/7 they return to the nest box. I have thought about a remote controlled hand that moves them tied in with a camera Perhqos a product for Omlet to market??!
