I am not amused!!!

Just too tempting - except the wrath of OH is something to avoid, so temptation is duly thwarted. Although any fabric with bling - which is pretty much the Oriental fabrics or Hoffman Christmas fabrics then I know I'm on a winner. Didn't notice any on that list and having just dived into the chicken quilt kit I know my limits. Thank you to MIL (however horrible she can be - she knows how to play nicely for birthdays and Christmas) for my Christmas present! But, like the infinite number of books, pretty quilts are always a source of inspiration. Especially in colourways that you'd never try and step out of your comfort zone until you see how they can work beautifully! I'll just dream on with this lot. :D

Actually have a look at Plum's quilts - fantastic! Careful Pimmsy Plum - don't wobble that pedestal I've put you on!

I agree with you over Plums quilts - she is just amazing and so so talented - seems to be able to turn her hand to anything!. I have my cat quilt kit and the batik one from craftsy and started the cat one and actually am making a real pigs ear of it! - have not done any this week to give me a rest from it as its not going well. Going to try pressing open the seams instead of to the dark side!!. I just keep buying fabric - hubby does not take any notice - its my money so..... he does not see half of what i have bought!.

The daily craftsy emails are soul destroying!

 My ears are burning. No different to your efforts we just have different styles. I really struggle with accurate piecing. I'm quilting a pieced one that's been on the pile for years and I'm flabbergasted at the accurate points, I couldn't do that now.

Valkyrie you keep tempting me with those craftsy kits you are very naughty and now they follow me around facebook. I keep telling myself its more rewarding when you choose your own fabrics. But not nearly as stunning a result.

Well put it this way - we think your colour choices are stunning! I think that is where I fail a bit - I love the colours but it's when I put them together I think well that wasn't a good idea! I see it in my head but when I see it together something never seems to gel. With Bonnie's MQ I did use a different colour to her but it seems to jump out more than any other colour. I should have thrown the lot on the floor and squinted to see first. But I've bought another Japanese fabric with red and turquoise flowers so I'm hoping to dot a couple of those around just to adjust the brightness.

At the moment I'm following Tamarack Shack blog - in the wilds of Canada and she's been doing snow dying - amazing results! And then she shows the quilts lying on the snow and wow! And then I think oooh must get a longarm - but then I need to practice with what I have first. I have years to practice with that first.

But with regard to matching points I seem to be improving with practice. Well considering my other machine pieced quilts have never matched in places, the last big quilt top went much better and the MQ has been better too. Since I measured out that scant quarter of an inch and added a lumpy marker tape to it, it' s been a huge help. Still learning.

Edited to add that hand piecing is far more accurate for me - it's just more long winded though. Still has a special place for those special quilts though.
