Luvachicken
Polly is in the broody cage as from yesterday. Last night's temperatures weren't too chilly but tonight is meant to go down to -3. I know she is covered in feathers but should she sleep with the other 2 for tonight and maybe tomorrow night if that is really chilly too ? I'm a bit worried as I've not really had a broody when it has been so cold before, silly chicken.
mullethunter
Do you have a garage or utility room you could put her in overnight? She would probably be ok but personally I wouldn't leave her out in a broody cage in sub-zero temps
Lewis
Yeah I'd pop her in a shed or garage or make sure the crate is well covered.
Luvachicken
Sadly she stayed out there all night because I only got messages today. She seemed fine this morning though I'll be able to set her free tomorrow lunch time. Not sure it is meant to be so cold tonight but I will pop a blanket over her just in case. I'll know for next time now though, thank you both
mullethunter
No harm done by the sounds of it. Bad timing - silly Polly

Cat tails
Merel and Leentje have been broody for at least 3 weeks... in this cold and wet weather... but hopefully a visit to Mr Giant Cockerel will have ruffled their feathers enough.
