June 1st. National Nail Polish Day!

In honour of this important day I have bought matte pastels and glitter..... My nails are going to be so pretty.

I wish I could embrace Nail Polish Day but I am rubbish at applying nail varnish. I get gel toe nails for going on holiday and they last for ages but I cannot get a nice diy finish.

Can apply it fine, but can leave it alone... one chip and I will be picking at it the rest of the day until it's all gone...

Bleugh - I love having painted nails, especially my toes, but I haven't been able to do them since we moved here.

And now my varnishes have gone all thick & lumpy.

I really feel like doing them now too!!!

Treat yourself to gel nails Cats Tails they are tough and don't chip easily. I only do toes as I don't think they are good for nails.

That is exactly how I feel, no one seems to feel the same, I love how it looks but hate the feeling. I will also paint my toenails though. Thanks patsylabrador for the heads up!

Just in time for summer I'll join you in the toenails, my hands aren't steady enough to do my fingers! What colour are we all going for? I bought myself some orange polish last year, not sure if I am really brave enough!

Wear it with pride Daphne. Oh my goodness, you should see what I wear on my nails. I'm also very rubbish at applying it and would be a really good candidate for one of those reality vs expectation memes. A trick is to get a fine paintbrush and clean round your nails with polish remover.

The colour of your nails is for you to judge alone. It's just fun and not permanent so it doesn't matter.

And now my varnishes have gone all thick & lumpy.

 

If it is because the weather is warmer in France, stick your polishes in the fridge! I live in Ibiza and mine occupy one of shelves of the fridge door all year round.

 

If it is because they are getting on a bit (and aren't we all?) put a drop of nail varnish remover in them to thin them down.

I have painted toe nails nearly all summer....love to vary colours although usually go for a dark pink. My favourite is alternate nails darkish purple and a mild lime green...but I am only brave enough to do it very occasionally! People always remark when I go for it though

 

My hands are constantly in and out of water so varnish chips quickly....but I do feel more 'together' if my toes are done. That said, we were away this week so I went au naturel for the duration but need to get the varnish out tomorrow

I couldn't find the orange stuff so I went for metallic gold instead. I do feel dressed for sandals now
