James H
I have had blinky for 20 weeks now but I am considering changing her name since I think I may have made a bad choice, blinky blinked at me when I first saw her hence the name but now that she loves eating more and more flowers I really like the name Prune! shes pruning bushes and hedges! should I change the name, she is only 20 weeks and was 8 weeks when I got her? I really need lots and lots of opionions on this one!# Thank you
Egluntyne
Go ahead. I changed the names of my 4 "nearly new" girls for two reasons. 1. I wasn't over-enamoured with the names they had been given and 2. The family wanted to set our own seal on them. It is not as if the come when they are called by name....you won't be confusing them! Classy Chick
I agree - I have only had my chickens 2 days now but I think that as long as you call them something nice you can call them whatever you like. Just being nosy now, what were you thinking of calling Blinky instead? Carrie x - Sam & Ella
harveypup
Humbug was called Freckle at first but it just didn't suit her so we changed it. I don't think she has suffered any psychological damage
Rhapsody
Scaramouche was Beelzebub when we got her as she bullied the others mercilessly. Then she changed her ways to become the cuddliest of the lot and got a name change.

Tony
My chickens get renamed every day, depending on the value of the plant they dig up

Hen Watch
Our chickens names were decided by the children on day 1. They had a list of 40 names but as the Omlet man pulled them out of the box the children just automatically named them. However, after reading posts on this forum, my children have found "better" names that others on this forum have called their chickens. So our chickens now have "middle names" to utilise the stolen name ideas from other people. My eldest daughter now has "Amber Artemis Alexina Fowl". Bit of a mouthfull when you call her from the bottom of the garden (that's the chicken not the child....!!!)
Mrs Frugal
Two of mine go by different names than in my signature now as they've kind of evolved. Clarissa is always known as Flossie or Flo and Isabella has turned into Betty or Boo . I don't think it matters.
chelsea
sometimes you have to wait for their own little personalities to come out before you find a name that fits. Up to you - you call her whatever you want !!
