Guest
Anyone know the cost of spare roosting bars for a cube? I thought I might add some to the order but can't find them on a search. Somehow I can't see me getting them dry quickly in midwinter so I thought I could rotate them.
sparkleeeeee
i think you can ask for them to be added to your order and i did think about that but with all the posts about them being filmsy i thought i would make a set myself. i could then make them in two bits which would be easier to remove and clean etc (and probably cheaper)

Guest
I was going to make a spare set for the Eglu but I havn't ever got round to it and now I'm back at school, in a new school I can't see me making the time before Summer term when things calm down (I teach mainly ks4 and LOADS of year 11, about 12 hours a week!!!). But I guess if they are that flimsy I'll have to get to it after all!
Henypenny
Just incase you dont get round to making your own, I bought a spare set of roosting bars for my cube just last week for £15.00 - I rang omlet up as I too couldnt find them on the online store

Egluntyne
Oops sorry...I misread. Best give them a ring.
chickweed
The first time I removed the roosting bars from the eglu, they broke apart! My husband repaired them and made a spare set at the same time, not too difficult. I would say that a second set is essential to allow drying time after cleaning the the first set. Richard
I made a spare set and it makes it much easier - I just put the other set in when I clean out and then don't have to wait for the cleaned ones to dry. I bought a load of 1'' by 1'' well, its actually about three quarter inch square planed) and have made spare sets for the Eglu and the Cube, and a set for Georgie's home made studio coop. Charlottechicken
Here's a link to the thread about my home made Eglu bars, same principles apply. They are easy peasy to make! http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7877
sparkleeeeee
penguinmad i have found some offcuts of wood on the wood pile that might be ok for the roosting bars i will have a go this week when the cube gets here so i can measure the omlet ones. if they are any good i can make you a set as well, it would only cost you the postage then. Essex birds
Hi, I got my purple cube 2 weeks ago. After a few times of taking my roosting bars out, one bar broke from staples, i kept bashing it back in but it constently broke. I felt this was bad and that the product should of been screwed. I contacted omlet explained this to James, he told me to, wait until a couple of months as they are in the prosses of making plastic roosting bars. Hope this helps, as for price i dont know. 9 chickens + 3 Pekin bantams
The Dogmother
Oooo, plastic roosting bars!!!!! Coating them with Plastidip makes them really quick to dry.
Guest
Do you think they will do anyone a deal who already has a cube with bars that are falling apart?
