SilkieChickenStreet
Hello all One of my little chickens has just been stung by a wasp. Has anybody had an experience with this? She/he has gone very quiet and is sleeping lots. Any advise welcome! Thank you!
mullethunter
My mum had one that was stung once and she syringed water into her beak to make sure she didn’t dehydrate, and apart from that just left her and she recovered fine. That was a full sized hybrid though. Fingers crossed for your little one.

I'm not sure whether something like liquid Piriton can be given to avians, even in titchy doses, so best avoided. If she looks worse, then be prepared to her her to a vet.
Lisbeth
Try putting some antihistamine cream on the area if you know where the sting is. Or some homeopathic Apis one pillule dissolved in a little water and give frequently.
SilkieChickenStreet
Thank you very much! Shes still very sleepy but has eaten and been drinking which is good. She doesn’t usually let me stroke her but she’s been little me itch her little cheek where she was stung. I’ll definitely try those nutridrops to give her a little kick. Not heard of the homeopathic apis so will give it a google and get some for her. Thanks again!
Luvachicken
Aww, poor little thing. Wasp stings are painful enough on us so I dread to think how much it hurt your little chook. How is she doing today ?
SilkieChickenStreet
Sorry for the late reply Luvachicken! She is doing absolutely fine now. Think she is a tough cookie! Thanks for asking ☺️
